That is very cool. I wonder how much of that was stripped during wartime and how much was repurposed by locals since the end of the war.

Way back in my youth, about 1978 I was in Indonesia visiting my dad who was doing work there. We landed at this old airstrip in a place called Balikpapen on the coast of Borneo.
There to my disbelief at the end of the runway slightly hidden by the jungle were old Japanese wrecks. I'm sure the pacific is full of WW2 surprises waiting to be found. I'm still looking for Yamashta's gold.
