After reading a src article in Junes take aim, src is in development of the mp41, and hopefully the fg42 for my fellow fj's!

Sounds awesome too bad I'm not with the FJ maybe I'll say I snuck into their barracks because I turned into a ninja and took one lol ;D But the MP41 sounds cool too. I hope they aren't super expensive

Great. Now EVERY FJ, or FJ wannabe will have one..
This was a VERY rare weapon, only about 7000 were made.
But hey, its a WW2 weapon for airsoft, so i guess its a good thing..

If it really comes out , this will be a great addition to the WWII German arsenal , but many kids will think the side magazine is to weird for them to use. I will get one , looks cool and i have fired a real one before plus have held around 8 more from different collections in museums.

Yeah, it would be cool. I doubt they would have time but hopefully it comes out, it's better for the fj than other weapons......I hope.

Not really , the MP40 , MP38(I) and the K98k are much better for the FJ , the FG42 was only used by a few FJs , most of them officers , many of the pics you see of the FG42 in use are actually staged shots , the few times you see a "large" number of FG42s is during Operation Eiche and a few during the German take over of Italy.

Agree with Fuisler and Alder, but hopefully the modern kids will stick to the modern guns, if not there probably gonna be over-used.

Would the person who saw the article please post a picture or the article itself of this alleged FG42?

But yeah, Maybe a small amount...like the real issued ones, Reduced though like release maybe 500-1000 But Hopefully STILL Its a Unique weapon for My Fellow FJ's I don't think Cairo was being a party pooper, the Fg42s build makes it promising in the fields of skirmishability thus because most wwii reenactors don't like being put in a tactical disadvantage, this and the agm mp44 will dominate the fields. When you look at pictures of events you never see a person with a bolt action or semi auto gun and instead you see mp44s and Thompsons. Reenactors hardly even use the mp40 because of the small mag capacity. I personally like historical accuracy in matches, because if I just wanted a good fight I could go to my local airsoft aren with my Thompson. However I do see hope though, if SRC makes a fg42 what's next? Maybe they'll bring back their mp40 or start working on the long time promised mp41. I think historical accuracy will slowly be achieved if this fg42 projects is succesful but until then at least you'll see more than one type of gun used by German Reenactors

Agree with Fuisler and Alder, but hopefully the modern kids will stick to the modern guns, if not there probably gonna be over-used. Can`t see the modern kids using an FG, the horizontal mag means low or mid cap, not everyone`s cup of tea ?

A curious thing, though. If they put the FG42 into production, the Airsoft FG42 will probably end up far outnumbering the real ones.

UPDATE!
I emailed SRC asking the latest news of the new upcoming FG42. Here it is:
To Whom it May Concern, Greetings from America, SRC! We are eager for the release of the new FG42. We have not heard any new news of it in awhile. Can I please have the latest news or any available updates on it? It would be greatly appreciated! Best regards, Andres
I received this reply:
Hello Andres Thanks for your mail. Sorry for the delay of FG42 because we have too many projects now. I think the soonest time is in 2013 or 2014. We’ll update on our website if released. Thanks. Avril Lee
But I didn't give up there... I then sent this:
Dear Avril Lee,
I'm sorry to hear about the delay. Do you at least have a basic plan for it? Is it going to be an AEG or a GBB? Also, can you please give me an estimate on its cost? Thank you!
I received this reply:
Dear Andres
It will be AEG. I got the latest news is this model is finish the design so probably will be available in the end of 2013. But I can't tell you what the cost will be. Sorry.
That's a bummer. Haha, I feel like it is leaving us in suspense. Anyways, I can't wait to see this gun on the market!

Certainly good news. I haven't seen any replica FG42s for sale, I haven't even seen resin models.

A very diverse weapon indeed. I would love to see some FJs in the field with this weapon. Unfortunately, the WW2 airsoft scene in South Florida is more dead than my great grandmother! But I would like to see some pictures of fellow WW2 airsofters here wielding this monster!
