I am starting this thread because I am sure a lot of us have a few favorite WW2 movie themes. I have decided to allow 3 themes max. for every member. Also feel free to discuss each movie/theme here as well.
Rules:
1. 3 max. themes per post. 2. ONLY one post of themes per month, say you change your mind on your favorite theme. 3. Feel free to discuss the theme/movie and why you chose it. 4. Be sure to include the movie title and the year it was released. 5. Can only be WW2 themes.
I'll start out:
My personal favorite: The Guns of Navarone-1961
No2. The Great Escape-1963
No3. The Bridge on the River Kwai-1957
I hope this thread is a place where we can share opinions about some of the greatest WW2 movies in the history of film.

Not really a movie, but Michael Giacchino's "Medal of Honor" game soundtracks are great, but here's my favourite, capturing a certain essence of WWII, nazi's, the resistance, and adventure. MOH: Underground "The Battle of Monte Cassino" youtu.be/uFwmjouKT9U

No particular reason for the order i am placing these in , i don't have a favorite WWII movie , to me they are all my favorites.
Mediterraneo (1991)
An Italian movie (that should only be watched in Italian to get all the little jokes and comments that are hilarious) about a small Italian detachment sent to occupy a Greek Island and look out for enemy ships and defend the island in the event of an invasion.
Das Boot (1981)
One of the best U-boat movies ever , the final minute of the score is when they attempt the Gibraltar breakthrough and Capt.-Lt. Willenbrock is standing on the Conning Tower of U-96 yelling as shells drop near them , awesome scene by the way.
Where Eagles Dare (1968)
The opening scene enough is great , the JU-52 weaving it's way through the mountains is great.
