To each his own I guess. I say do whatever you wan't. My gear isn't only just about airsoft, and like I said, I go for the full appearance. Sometimes that appearance includes full gear, and sometimes it doesn't .

You sure want to get ALL the gear even if you don't use it all in a combat simulation it is great to have around camp and useful around camp if you are at a full immersion event. Wearing an e-tool and haversack while airsofting is a bit overkill and not necessary but if you are comfortable wearing it then do so. However ditching unneeded gear at base camp while fighting it out is also just fine I think.

Yes I like to have a complete set up even stuff I rarely use. However new guys should start with the necessities and move from there. I don't really care what looks "cool" I just try to be as realistic and authentic as I can.

Well I'd say he still needs a field jacket, trouser belt, thompson magazine pouch or bag, and boots before he has the basics. Anyways yes its a very good start.

I have a field jacket, trouser belt will be ordered with the boots and I'm buying a Mag pouch. To replace the Haversack I'm thinking M1936 suspender's would do, correct? I'm also buying some goggles and a mesh mask, this was my original idea but I thought buying the PB mask would make more sense. But it turned into a headache, buying the wrong kind of spring for my Thompson didn't help either.(And is the cause of me beeing peeved at this whole shenanigan) Spent an hour and a half+ fighting it and FINALLY getting it to go inside, just to find out that a PSG is not just acronym jibberish, but it's a rifle with a longer spring. So now I'm waiting for the correct Sp100 spring + a shim kit from ASGI to arrive. And hopefully make my Thompson shoot under 395fps. *Heavy sigh* Thank you all for being so helpful I really appreciate it

If your doing a regular infantry impression you will want to keep your haversack sadly. Its a necessary evil for the impression. As for the goggles I just use clear shooting glasses. They dont show up much during pictures and they are pretty good when it comes to not fogging. And they are like 15 bucks at walmart. Something to check out.

Yea you shouldn't get rid of the haversack. All I am saying is it was only used for certain purposes and doesn't need to be worn all the time. Some guys had M36 suspenders but a lot of guys just went with the belt only.
I love safety glasses as they don't fog and are not as visible as other goggles. However they don't offer full protection on the sides and a lot of places don't allow them. Mesh goggles are also great but a lot of places don't allow them either. They claim a BB could break upon impact and seep through the mesh.
Some type of full seal goggles are probably the best option. Its hard to get a decent pair that fits under an M1 Helmet. Something with fans is best as they often fog. If you like the mask and it works well you can use that too.
As far as the spring and M100 should get it shooting around 350fps though I am not sure.

I've seen pictures where guys didn't attach the Haversack to the belt at all, just hooked the straps back onto the pack itself and wore it like a backpack so you could take it off if ya'll suddenly started getting shot at.

One of the guides said that as well, I think I'll try it like that for a bit.

It isn't too bad actually. It's nice to be able to just slip it off.

Also, in regards to the goggles and mouthguard; It's not like you need to post pictures of that stuff. Since you only use them in-play anyways.
What goggles did you decide on? I've had both ESS and WYLEYX goggles, and Im a HUGE fan of both.

I have a pair of BOLLE's like that, and they work alright. I was always happier with my ESS, but the style is low profile enough to still look MUCH better than that goofy paintball mask

Still good for CQB, and that's half the reason I bought it There are to many options for airsoft face protection, it all so confusing. I also have a Mesh mask, I have to overlap the goggles a tiny bit but it fits. I don't like how it looks so I might not ever use it.

I've never really used anything mesh, partially because they don't allow them here in MI, and also because I think they look a bit silly. I agree though, there are WAY too many options for face protection.
For CQB I still only use goggles, and have yet to have a problem.

It's just a lower face mask you use in conjunction with goggles.

In MD all the public fields require full PB mask as part of their insurance, so unfortunately airsofters look a bit silly here.
The photos with the fence in B&W look great (they all do, but B&W stands out)
Keep it up

Not safe.
Also could someone list the Fall-Winter clothing, and were mackinaw coats GI issued?9I (think they were)
I'll look this up eventually, just looking for a quick answer.

Lenses of gas masks aren't ANSI rated and you also put yourself at risk of being a heat cat, it gets stuffy in those masks.

Gas masks are really a pain to wear and in fact during the war weren't worn tactically at all. As mentioned the lenses aren't rated to withstand BB strikes even when new and most are brittle and easily shattered. The best tip on eye protection is wear something you know works and is comfortable enough that you don't even notice you have it on. Typically the most dangerous place for eye protection sadly is in the safe areas so my advice is keep it on always!
Mackinaw coats were commonplace and popular. Lots of variations and choices when it comes to Mackinaws. They are wondeful in cold weather.

Seconding 2nd bat's reccomendation for mackinaws. During the last game we had, it was hailing, and quite cold (near 36ish degrees according to a friend). Even though most of my friends we freezing, I was actually quite toasty in the mackinaw

I totally forgot to post this picture of me on Halloween, I had to walk my sister around the neighborhood so I decided to dress up as well. I had the Thompson on my shoulder sling'ed the whole time too.
