This should be in weapons boot camp. I am assuming your talking about the AGM/Cybergun MP40? If so its a good starter weapon. With a bit of upgrading and modification it can hold its own against other machine guns. In an ideal WW2 Airsoft scenario where most of the players use rifles it would even be fine stock as is. It often the way you play not the weapon you play with though. If you like MP40s or play WW2 Airsoft I would suggest it. Here is a review on it. ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gun&action=display&thread=7144

Do beware that at least here in asia we've had more than a few where the pot metal parts including the gearbox have degraded rapidly. Only though after upgrades to 400 plus fps.

Yea though you can get the FPS higher without putting more stress on the gearbox.

It should be fine to start out with, and there is no reason to have a sub machine gun shooting 400+ anyways. It will do nothing for you.

Yep our group limit is 350fps with Machine guns. The main thing I'd upgrade on the MP40 is the hop up and barrel. The hop up barrel setup is a two piece barrel system which is prone to air leaking.
On my personal one I put a new barrel, bucking, modified hop up, new spring, metal spring guide, shims, and new grease. I haven't tested it yet but I think its shooting around 320fps.

Sounds about right. Anywhere between 330-360 is where it's at for SMGs.

I've been using one for about 2 years now.fired around 10,000 rounds thru it w/out a single malfunction. It's really accurate up to 40 yards w/20 gram bb's.i hear it will stay accurate up to 60 yards w/25 gramm bb's although I've never tried it.I did notice a good improvement in rounds per minute using a slightly larger battery. I'm happy with it.

I wouldn't bother with a higher voltage battery as the MP40 didn't have a high rate of fire anyways.
