Ya thanks for bringing up that question Charley. That's my plan im thinking 50 to 75 cents a piece depending on whether or not I need to add an o-ring, as of now there is no rubber o-ring, i molded the original shell with the o-ring on it. So when I cast it, there is a plastic (o -ring) that is permanently fixed to the shell, and lets hope that it seals, if not 75 cents to a dollar per shell for the price tag.

Years and years ago. (in the 80s). Most all the springer airsoft guns were shell ejecting (which was a pain). I found that if i applied a tiny amount of grease (like vicks vapor rub but without the smell) to the part of the shell the bb inserted into, the seal was better and the bbs flew harder and further. You did have to clean the barrel thoroughly after a days shooting however. I suspect this approach might work to accomplosh what your o ring would do and maybe even do it better. (vasoline is what i used)

What kind of plastic are you using?

A two part polyurethane. I buy it off ebay.
It works like 2 part epoxy, you mix it and it produces its own heat which makes it solidify.

Just wondering, the .30-06 case is similar to the 8mm Mauser, but longer. The cases heads are the same diameter. I was thinking maybe you could take some used .30-06 cases, cut off the bottom inch or so and cast the rest, so you'd have a metal rim. Or are the Dboy's plastic shells a different size than the reall cartridge case?

I have plenty of 8mm and 30-06 ammo and cases. My first idea was to just modify a real case to hold a bb, but the problem was that a real rifle case slowly narrows down before it reaches the neck. You see the rim and base of the dboys shell is the same as the real one, but the rest of the body is one solid size. I tried putting the dboys shell into my k98 chamber but it gets to big about half way in. all tho like you said if I use just the bottom of a case and then cast the upper part it might work.
Really good thought Ill see if I can put that to the test.
Thanks again.

Remrat, I am VERY interested! If you can make a disposable cartridge that is compatible with the gas and spring versions of the Dboys k98 and that is decent enough to fire as it should at least 90% of the time for less than a dollar a piece, I am game! Has the testing been finished? If feedback is positive, I will be placing orders! Thanks so much for your ingenious invention: the disposable Dboys k98 shell!

Good to see you are interested in these shells The testing was successful and the one testing it said that the shells actually preform better than the original.
The only problem is the time and effort it takes to make these shells its just not worth it, the way im doing it with pouring plastic into a mold then drilling the shell out If i could get my hands on a small plastic injection molder this would be a breeze but the cheapest i can find right now is $500.

Hi, just found your thread, was wondering if you still make the shells, or had any laying around still? I would like to try something similar out, was wondering if you could give me all the measurements of the dboys k98 shell, like diameter, outer and inner, as well as total length and distances between the notches. Thanks again.
Ps:holding a measuring device next to the shell also works, as long as you can give me the inner and outer diameter as well.
