G&G's M14s are top notch. I expect this to blow the ICS out of the water

It is an AEG with a 20 round clip. That looks ALOT like the m14 magwell and internals, I would probably modify it for m14 magazines

Awesome news! I am sure it will top the ICS model although the ICS Garand may be cheaper for those on a tight budget. This is fantastic news though!

Hopefully the price of the M1 falls somewhere around that of their M14 ($325).

Indeed though still in prototype form it appears a lot further along than the ICS. The 20 round clips will be far more palatable than an eight round clip even if the 8 rounds are more authentic. My general rule is 3 airsoft rounds for every actual round so this at least comes closer. The clips look fairly substantial and its nice that they will include an additional clip. Hopefully extras won't be too pricey. It also appears that the clips will fit in the M1928 web pouches (hopefully)
The GnG M14 is outstanding so hopefully this will follow suit. It will be terrific if ICS also gets their Garand AEG to market and especially so if it provides a price spread so folks have more opportunities to field Garands. I'll be astounded if in fact these are available by June. Estimates of such things tend to be off by a year to six months and as was the case with the BAR sometimes they just drop off the face of the earth between prototype, announced release and cancellation. Fingers are tightly crossed.

Yea I am quite happy with the 20 round magazine too. Honestly even a 30 one would be even better but 20 is better then 8. I am guessing G&G will come through with this especially after releasing their K98. The K98 was not released when they said it would be though. G&G is a reliable company though not like one of those fly by night Chinese brands. Either way it will be worth the wait I am sure.

A BIG seller for me is if it will be M14 mag compatible if I run across for AR/AK platform noobs! But 20 rounds on semi should not be bad, much better than ICS...

warbirdguy. I took a good look at the mag area and it will not be compatibile with the M14 mag. The M14 wouldn't fit in it and would not lock even if it did fit. Too bad :/

It looks like we may have to stretch the Cartage belt pockets a bit to get the mags to fit. But I just dumped allot of $ into my current Garand so I don't think I'll be getting this one soon.

I have been waiting for a LONG time for this AEG Garand, I wanted to put it to the test to see how authentic it is! The only thing I really am curious about is that there are 2 differences in some M1 Garand parts. First off, the G&G prototype has a "milled" trigger guard compared to the rounded stamped one currently on my Garand. My Garand has a "cross" (for lack of better terms) style gas plug and so does the G&G prototype. I will not take stock shape into consideration since there were some variations between factories. I am VERY excited to compare the two!

I am VERY excited to compare the two! Those variations are between earlier production Garands and later War Babies, that needed to mass produced. There are tons of books written about each factory and the variance of models. Really interesting, and a hobby for a lot of folks that work to get all matching parts for their Garands and Carbines.

I do have access to a Garand that is almost identical to the G&G Prototype with the milled guard. I think I will compare those too!

the earliest Garands would be the smartest ones to replicate as they tend to be the most collectible in the case of actual rifles and would be appropriate for virtually every US unit and virtually every campaign. They would feature (among other things) the single slot front locking lug, and the slotted hand guard clip. Sight locks would be nice as well. All of this is simple rambling as any decently done Garand AEG will be welcomed enthusiastically !!!!
