Ok, so I read somewhere that the Kar98k form Tanaka was able to shoots at 560 FPS with propane before some kind of "preban." I know there are FPS limits in Japan, but does anyone have any information on this pre ban? I'm assuming that the ones available on redwolfairsoft are after the ban (logically).

I believe there are 3 versions the original which with propane (HFC22) shoots in the 500-600 fps range, the G version which has an adapter to adjust the fps from the 5-600 range to 3-400 range, and the new model which has the adapter permanently affixed. fixed at 350 ish. we have examples of all 3 types You could probably make a new air nozzle pretty easily. all it is is a copper tube if you can get a piece of copper tubing of the appropriate diameter and cut it to the exact length you should in theory be able to make your new model gun as "good" as the old ones. However i feel that the new models are fine the way they are.

This adapter on the G version, is it built in? How does that work?

So that was the model where the fps was supposed to be lowered for gaming? At 560 they didn't really help much

Yeah its still high. Same with the g980 supposadely coming soon, 500-600 will be too high. but the Japan version (original) was like 350 fps. thats fine.

The G98 comes with two clips, one is 560 fps (probably for target shooting) and the other is 350fps (for gaming). The only problem is the one that is supposedly 350 fps, actually shoots 470~ so they lied, and this rifle isn't skirmishable. (unless you play airsoft with a gurrilla)

They are banned unless Tanaka lowers the FPS on their rifles.
There were probably less than 100 G versions made and who the hell knows where they went. The only ones avaliable now are the ones that shoot way too hot, and they aren't allowed at most fields.
