Hmm it sure is a thompson... but I still wouldn't buy a thing from WE, their internals are "made out of cheese"

If WE does come up with a GBB Thompson, or anything WW2, I'd still be all over it. Despite the cheese. For sure, RATech will come up with steel replacements anyway. Kudos to WE for trying out new designs. And really, with the price point, you can't lose.

Very very cool. I hope Ra-Tech will provide steel upgrade parts for durability's sake, and hopefully mags will be available and sanely priced. Still, "soon" could mean 2018 for us.

Well if their post is to believed in that it "has gone into mass production" Then I suspect we should see pre orders soon and it will hopefully be available by the summer

Taiwan, I can't talk about price at the moment until it has been released locally. I can only confirm what was said earlier :) But the price looks very reasonable. My only concern is WEs finishs of there guns are not that great. But that being said I think it will be a very reliable and great skirmrisable gun lets hope

Gas blowback equals COOL WHILE IT WORKS but sadly that's not very long. Hopefully that's not the case with this gun but I'm sure not going to be the first to find out!

WE has aftermarket support though (unlike Marushin or other WWII GBB manufacturers), which means even if parts break there will be upgrade (steel) parts from Ra-Tech which will ensure proper function at a steep cost. Honestly though, I bet the cost of mags will weed out those who can't afford to skirmish this gun (I'm guessing $800 for gun, 5 spare mags and replacement steel parts.) I certainly hope I guessed high, but this will not be a beginner's gun.

I am hoping the gun itself is 300-400$ USD and I can imagine the mags will be the typical 40-50ish dollars.
The finish from we seems to be eh but it seems that most people here have gotten ways to deal with that one way or another

I'm looking forward to getting the Thompson. Any clue though when it may potentially be hitting stores? I'm wondering if the stock is also a Faux wood or real wood as well.

Provided the gun works (which WE GBBRs tend to do surprisingly well), $278 is not bad at all. That said, spare magazines will likely make this a $500 skirmish package.

well they're based in Hong Kong. I went ahead and tested an order out to see how much the shipping would be and it's 71.35 for just the gun itself to flordia making the total 349.35. They do have paypal so that is nice. According to their facebook, they're only getting 400 for their first batch and their eta is december 8th so we'll see what happens.
