It wasnt too many years ago that the list of commercially available, reasonably priced WW2 weapons was pretty short. Tanaka had a gas Kar 98, Marui offered a Thompson,Hudson had a ineffective but fun Grease gun and Marushin offered a "cock it everytime" gas carbine. there were a few extremely expensive exotics that were outsideof most peoples budget. JAC Shoei etc.
I want to officially create an updated list so that portion of our web site will be correctly and accurately filled out. Currently it is way out of date.
Here off the top of my mind are the current offerings. please feel free to add to it so we can formulate a complete list. ThompsonSub Machine guns. (marui, Cyma, cybergun, acm, etc etc etc.) MP 40 sub machine guns. (AGM, SRC assorted other brands) M 1 carbine ( Marushin, 6mm and 8mm, green gas and CO2 M1 Garand ( Marushin GBB, 2nd Bat conversions, soon to be out ICS and GnG m3 Grease gun ( Hudson (gbb) Ares, ICS) Stg 44. ( AGM, Assorted builders) Kar 98. (Tanaka (gas), D Boyi (spring shell ejecting) GnG and assorted custom builds Mosin Nagant (KWA, Zeta labs, S&T) Springfield (KWA, Zeta labs, S&T) StenGun. ( AGM) SMLE ( Shoot n Scoot inUK, Soon to be released from S&T zeta labs) 30 Cal.M1919. Viva and Kill bucket home builds. (neither available anylonger) BAR (VFC aeg and ACM BAR aeg) luger .45Auto Browning H Power
Some of these brands such as Zeta Labs, S&T ares etc maybe one and the same.
I know there are others I forgot and additional details required but this is a start.

Could Add (Shoei and Lancer Tactical) to the STG 44 Panzerfaust ( Rap4, SOW, CDI Customs, SHI, Various custom builds) Nambu (Marushin) Colt 1908 (hfc) Add ( Marushin, Tanaka and WE tech) to luger Add (KWA, WE tech, Western arms, Marui, ect) next to m1911 (WE tech) for browning. That is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Yes! thats what we're looking for. Keep adding any that might be missed and we can finalize the list (which hopefully will grow from additional offerings.). Eventually it would great to list everything with a synopsis on performance and approximate costs. Photos too would be nice. We have a section for this on the site but it is so obsolete as to be meaningless.

Obviously the latest addition is the ECHO1 BAR which appears to be a rebranding of the ACM BAR which itself is a clone of the VFC BAR. The Echo 1 BAR is more afforable and now sold from US retailers.

Matrix M3. Interesting. The hits just keep on coming. this is slightly different than either the Ares or the ICS so a genuinely new offering.

new additions and affordable: UKARMS (also branded as CYMA). Springer M1 carbine. It is in fact an M2 Korean, Vietnam era replica but it can be tweaked into a reasonable looking WW2 replica. ( remove the bayoner lug and shorten the banana clip which are both easily done.). This is a decent replica that shoots hard but has to be cocked each time. under $50.00 with available, inexpensive low cap magazines.
There is a Cheezy plastic gear box M1 carbine that is semi and full auto. well under $100.00. can be visually enhanced but will never be anything beyond okay looking and this is questionable. It shoots just barely hard enough to be skirmishable. (much like a real carbine!)
Evike has a pre order for a $600.00 MG 42 which looks promising and there is also news of a polar star M1919 .30 Cal
the list keeps growing.

Certainly reasonable if purchased by a group of German players or small unit collectivey as their MG. ultimately it would be great to see 1 MG for every seven or eight players or so?

A couple new offerings of interest RED FIRE Spring powered Mosin Nagant bolt Action Rifle and a RED FIRE Gas Kar 98. these may be rebadges of products listed previously. There was a time when I decided to buy any and all viable and reasonably priced WW2 airsoft gun but thankfully the choices now are so diverse there is no way my pockets are deep enough. At present I do have virtually all of the available US offerings. (or have owned them in the past.) Obviously I have kept at least one of the assorted US Rifles I built. M1 Garand AEGs, Homebuilt BAR, VSR Based Springfield. M 1917, M 1919, in addition I have an airsoft 50 Cal and a 57mm recoiless rifle. For commercial offerings I've owned and subsequently sold two Marushin M1 Garands and every variation of the Marushin gas M1 carbines. (3 models including 8mm) The original 6mm non blowback was the best of the bunch. None of the gbb variants were predictable and reliable enough to skirmish with. The current CO2 variant is, but barely. I owned a Hudson M3 Grease gun. likewise horrible but fun while it lasted. i now own an Echo 1 BAR (fabulous) an ICS M1 Garand AEG (also fabulous) and an ICS M3 Grease gun. (very very good). Like everyone I have an AEG Thompson (very good) and I have a couple of the UKARMS Springer carbines (okay and inexpensive) and the ACM plastic gearbox aeg carbine (hokey but good for the money with a little cosmetic work) For German guns I have an Mp40 an MP44 and a homebuilt VSR based CZ 24. I will no doubt buy the MG 42 on pre order from Evike. For Soviets I have a PPSH and a home built RPD. (WW2? ). it's an addiction but so nice to finally see quality, affordable offerings. Given the low production numbers and limited nice market WW2 weapons will never be priced as inexpensively as the "everyman" modern tacticool guns 99% of the airsofters want but lets face it even when we go to modern events it's cool to have something that turns heads!

What do you think of the co2 carbine? Has Marushin redeemed themselves in part?

The CO2 powered M1 carbine is a vast improvement over the Marushin M1 Garand and all but the initial "cock it every time " gas carbine (which was very good). The CO2 offering is far less finicky, far more consistent with few missfires and decent power and predictability. it is less impacted by colder temperatures than the green gas powered ones and seems to get off more reloads per magazine. It is manageable price wise until you factor in the cost of necessary spare magazines required to make it skirmishable which takes the price up well over $500.00. I like mine a lot. It is a very well done replica and facilitates the role of a carbine. It is not capable enough to be a main battle weapon but far far more capable then the Marushin M1 Garand. For less money I would recommend an ICS Garand or a used 2nd Bat conversion. (This is not a solicitation as I no longer build and sell them).

Latest update. My Marushin CO2 carbine like all my past gas blow back rifles broke with no replacement parts available so I patched it and sold it as a wall hanger prop gun. kING ARMS has a clone of it now available as both conventional and airborne Variants. S&T has introduced a straight stock M1903A3 spring powered, real wood stock replica for $200.00 and I have been very pleased with it. Perhaps a Kar 98 and Enfield will soon follow. A new GnG MG 42 has been announced but with a $1600 suggested retail price. GnG finally released their AEG wood stocked M1 Garand and it appears visually more correct than the ICS which has been out for sometime with mixed reviews. Spare clips for the 20 round GnG Garand have yet to be available and I am holding off buying one till that is remedied and favorable field experiences are shared. My ICS Garand continues to function flawlessly as do reports on most of the homemade Garand M14 conversions. There is a Czech light machine gun (similar in appearance to a Bren gun) that is out. Also AGM offers a nicely done Sten gun

I agree as this thread should serve as a good resource for new or casual players. At this point I am just using it to gather what we collectively know about what's available and what we know about them.

The first post should be treated as a living document and updated whenever something new comes out. Have it be organized by Country, with a tad bit of data on each one and a short word on it, like if its reliable, if there is one major flaw, or a common gripe or praise about it. For example:
USA: Thompson (AEG, King Arms, highly reliable)
Germany: Kar98 (Shell ejecting, DBoys, unskirmishable unless mated with a VSR-10 type rifle) Kar98 (Gas, RedFire/PPS, Co2 mags are getting hard to find, green gas mags are still out there)
Soviet Union: Mosin Nagant 91/30 (Gas, Redfire/PPS, wood stock and sniper variants out, weird gas and BB loading system, will take time to get used to)
It might take a bit of work to get the document like this going, but once its created, it will be easily maintained, read, and understood.

An update to this thread. There is now an excellent Springer k98 from S&I an Arisaka Springer rifle (non shell ejecting). Each IS skirmishable right out of the box and under $200.00. S&T also make an AE G Garan D which is visually a little winky but with a lower price than IC S or GnG and with inexpensive spare magazines. It is a good strong shooter and can be visually enhanced. I own all three Garan D AEGs and wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of them. A 3D printer Fj42 is now out and a kit 3D printer G43 is available. I would say the only major missing weapon is an authentic skirmishes m1 web carbine.

I don't think he checks here often but try PMing him here. Tac2Jager (Steve Miner). He sells the 3D printer bits they require a little adaption to whatever AE G M14 you use but it's a very doable project and his bits look really good. His FJ42 is a fully fleshed out product and truly awesome. Both fill current open holes.

You can also get contact info via Facebook. Just go to Facebook and search G43 and FJ42 for his threads on each. He is far more interested in product development than sales so it can be a little frustrating but he is doing amazing things.
