In an old WW2 encyclopedia my Dad has it shows a picture of a Sgt. In the Big Red 1 carrying one somewhere in Italy. He was rounding up Italian prisoners.

well for the rear sight you could make one out of styrene and screw it to where the forward hole for the Rail was.

Cool, thanks! SO far I have a helmet, canteen/cover, and leggings. My BAR belt is on the way. I also need to decide on a unit, but that will require some research.

I got the new B.A.R and it is awesome. Problem is, I dont have a U.S kit. I want to put together the most generic infantry kit together possible so I can go to any event but I dont know which uniform is the best for that. The HBT or the M41 coat with the wool pants. I've done some research but I'm still confused. Any help would be appreciated.

My cousin is putting together a 101st airborne impression. He has the M43 uniform because he is only 16 and he figured that it would make more sense to look like a "replacement" if he went to an event until he got older and got the M42 uniform. He pretty much has the basic gear rounded out but he was wondering what kind of equipment the older guys would have told him to get rid of or add to his kit before a jump or when he hit the ground and what kind of little personal doo-dad stuff they would have carried. My main impression is Germanso i offered him a little advice but he really a stickler for detail. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, the best advice i could give is find a good farm to work at in the summer doing hay. If thats not an option, walk everywhere with a backpack with some weight in it. Lift weight but dont do it in the sense of weight lifting if that makes any sense at all. Lift like you are working its builds muscle faster and its "practical" muscle that stays on you. Just weight lifting builds "cosmetic" muscle. You'll look good but if you stop working out for a few weeks you'll lose it....I'm no expert but thats what i know.

The americans basically did put a bayonet on their tanks. Look at the hedgehog device we used in the bocage after D-Day

After looking over jimmiroqui's G43 build alike ive decided to take the same approach at a G41 out of an M14 with parts from a D-Boy k98. Does anyone know the length of the upper handquard and the receiver? I've looked all over google and cant find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

My main impression is HG division and generic Luftwaffe field division. I got a set of very nice Sturmpionier pouches for christmas and I really like them, they are great for carrying pretty much everything I need. My question heer (haha pun) being would it be possible for a member of one of the units I reenact to carry the Sturmpionir pouches? I have read a few things about panzer grenadiers in these units having them but I havent found any pictures so I'm sorta on the edge about wearing them to a larger event.

I like battles with absolutley no off time. As soon as I lace up and put that helmet on my head I want action. It adds suspense and an uncertainty to everyhting "should I take a drink now or should I wait?" that sort of stuff. But as with anyting planning is paramount.

I like all sorts of stuff but mostly heavy metal. My favorite bands are Megadeth, Anthrax, Sodom, 80's MetallicA, D.R.I, Amon Amarth and various others. I like punk and that kind of stuff too. I also like old country like Johnny Cash and Hanks Jr and Sr. As for modern country I dont like any of it except Unkown Hinson and Hank III. And of course as a WWII and Civil War reenactor I like the period tunes too......oh yes and Led Zeppelin, I always have time to get the Led out.
