What a great game! I want to thank everyone that showed up and for the fun time we all had. Joe did a superb job putting this together and if it were not for him, we would not be having these games. Kudos to Joe, we appreciate your tenacity and efforts. The game had many missions that were fun and challenging. The Germans had to retrieve documents at a downed Allied plane and after fighting our way valiantly to the plane we got there only to find no documents. The Germans then proceeded to try and retake the town. An hour later I got a communique that the Americans had just retrieved the documents. I suspect we went to the wrong plane or the documents had been buried in the ground. Fighting was fierce and the Germans put up a good fight despite being overwhelmingly outnumbered. Good job guys and thanks for your efforts. Due to the Axis low numbers it was agreed that the entire German army would perform a flank attack from both the North and South on the Americans while I stayed behind at HQ and would attack the Americans in the village from the West. My goal was to make it seem like a whole army was attacking the Americans with the hope of releasing pressure from the Germans in the east. I lobbed grenades, rockets, gun fire from all kinds of different positions running back and force towards the village making as much noise as I could. After a while it appeared the Americans took this attack seriously as I saw 5 Americans head out of the town towards me. I kept engaging them for an hour while the Entire German Army attacked from the East. Playing a one man army was fun and certainly tiring but they did take the bait. The night fighting was a blast and the searchlight kept the Allies hunkered down as well as the flares that illuminated whole sections of the forest. The Allies did finally reach the radio tower objective but Dean had not yet learned how to light a match and could not destroy the objective ;D. We ended the night with a great fire and a little drizzle but nothing too bad to ruin the evening. Had a great time as I believe everyone else did also. I would like to close by wishing Brandon the best in his new venture he will be missed by both the Germans and Allies.

Are you guys going to stay over night even thought it may rain or snow a little? Rain is less then 10%, you have a better chance of winning at the lottery than getting rained on Weather for Friday night looks perfect, 36 degrees, which in past experiences is very comfortable inside a tent. Saturday in the 40's and sunny, could not ask for better.

so their will be night fighting on Friday? And if there is what time should we start to come up Yes, night fighting on Friday. Coming up any time after 5PM would be good. Night fighting will probably not start until around 6 or 7PM. We have a few not arriving until 8PM but they will be considered reinforcements. Goal of the night fighting will be for the Allies to sabotage a strategic German location near the German camp (Strategic target will be revealed Friday night). Goal of the Germans is to enjoy a nice evening around a camp fire with music and good food oblivious of the impending Allied incursion. Of course this is a heavily fortified German camp, so expect the usual search lights, flares and occasional German patrols during the night. We do have extra room in the tents for 3 additional parties if anyone needs a roof to sleep under in case you do not have a tent. Just bring a wool blanket or sleeping bag and you will be all set.

For all those that will be present for the night-time activities. If you have room please bring some wood to help keep some roaring fires going. If you do not have any at home, one of those packs from the grocery stores will do great. Depending on how much wood we have we will have one or two big fires going to help illuminate the camp and add to the ambiance.
JP, if you can, please bring 2 German flags to fly by the bridges. Thanks, Migs
2??? I will be bringing 6, we plan on marking our territory to its fullest

Awesome! I'm in! I'll be there shortly before 5. I also just realized that Blank fire is no longer allowed, and my mp40 is down D: If anyone has a weapon I can borrow, I have batteries and ammo, and I can pay a bit of a rental fee if need be . I would prefer a K98, but anything will do. If nobody has anything, I'll just use my luger, I'll be there no matter what. If you've got batteries and ammo, I've got extra guns, you're all set.

What make and size do you need? If their yours, I very seriously doubt they're going to fit. Around a 42 if you have them. It's not a huge deal what make. M36, M40, M43 trousers, feldgrau, steingrau, doesn't matter. (I don't believe) Mark, don't worry about the pants, I have plenty of extras and we can work something out. I have an M40 that is either a 40 or 42 that I am sure will fit. Just show up and all will be good :-). We should be at the field Friday around noon if you wanted to pass by. If not we can fit them just before the night missions.

Deutsche Soldaten! We are less then 1 week away from defense operations in Eindhoven as well as defending the bridges over the Wilhelmina. Weather for Friday and Saturday looks superb. Low 50's and high 30's at night. Perfect conditions for night camping, night fighting and day battles. German HQ will be set up Friday morning and German defenses will be ready for any night time incursions. Should the Allies not show up we shall have a nice fun evening by the fire serenaded by our favorite Lili Marleen with ample German beer. Should the Allies paratroop in the area we shall be ready for them with Flares, searchlights and area bombardments. The mere might of our forces shall keep them at bay. We have been blessed with new supplies of MG42's, panzerfausts, mines and Tiger tanks to help in our defense of the newly acquired Fatherland. All troops are expected to show up Friday evening by 5PM to prepare for the night offensives. We shall have two camps set up, one for period authentic tents in the field and a modern tent in the parking lot for the rest. Looking forward to a great event, come one come all, it is not too late to register for this fabulous experience. I hope to send in registration this weekend-- I'm excited this is my first such event. Speaking of which, here's what I've been able to put together as an impression (I know some of the gear is not stowed right, and some is post-war). Just want to run it by y'all to see if it cuts muster. Constructive criticism is very welcome. So far looks quite good to me. A few minor tweaks here and there that we can go over at the field but overall I can see you put a lot of effort into this impression and it looks great, nice job.

Nothing like a little WWII night fighting, beers around the campfire, and night skies over GZA in the crisp autumn air! That is what it is all about. Living, fighting and sleeping like they did back in the day. That is true WW2 reenactment.

The 5 of us will be there either dates. Will definitely want to get some night fighting in for Friday night. Hopefully we can get enough people to come Friday to get some good skirmishes for the night. I would even bring the search light to make it more appealing in planning some scenarios.

Personally I have truly enjoyed the presence of blank fire attendees at our events. It truly adds a level of realism and immersion that Airsoft guns cannot offer. I had the opportunity to use a blank fire gun at a recent event courtesy of Bill and Jeff and it was a blast. To my surprise the Airsoft guys actually did call their hits when I aimed the k98 in their direction and fired. I was amazed at the loudness of these guns and how much it impacted your ears when you fired one. I sure feel for those guys in the real war that must have come out deaf when returning home. It is my hope that the BF guys will continue to attend as it adds a level of realism both on the impression side and sound effect side that we all strive for at these events. I know that at the events I attended the rules were clearly stated as to what consisted a kill from a blank fire gun and confusion seemed very minimal. Keep them BF guns coming guys

Votes were a little slim on both the ya and nay side. Not sure if it is the actual date causing the disinterest or just plain WW2 Airsoft fatigue (been there done that, need something new). Either way, discussion would help stir this in the right direction. Come on guys, summer is over, time to plan for some events

Yes it was short and yes we eventually got rained out, but all in all there were some great moments. The night fighting was awesome and some great kills were recorded by many. Trip and field set up was long but all in all we had a great time. The field credit is very much appreciated and kudo's to GZ Airsoft for offering it. Speaks every highly of them. Have no regrets for attending and offer a huge thanks to all those that showed up, made for a great short event with great moments to be remembered. I thinks everyone shares the same feeling of a fantastic truncated event and looking forward to "part deux" . I want to end by thanking all the Germans that showed up. This time you all really stepped up to the plate in numbers and spirit, it was an honor fighting along side you and you all performed magnificently. Everyone looked superb in their impressions and really fought hard to repel the invasion. We had quite a few new German players that really worked hard to make sure their impression was spot on. Brandon, Martin, Mike and Alex nice job, you guys fit right in, no one could have ever guessed this was your first time as a German. In the words of one Yank, "you Germans really played the part, when we attacked the village, I heard all kinds of yelling in German as you mobilized and thought to myself sh..t these guys are serious, gave me butterflies in my stomach as I neared the town". That is the kind of dedication we look for and that is the kind we got. Thanks again to all that showed up and the great spirit you all put forth.

Deutsche Soldaten! There have been reports of an imminent invasion in the northeast region of France. We believe these reports to be false rumors propagated by the resistance to cover for the real invasion in the South of France. HQ has asked that all troops remain on heightened alert and report to duty tomorrow by 7PM in the secret French location code named Wolcoten, CT. While we do not expect any hostilities, all soldiers are to be extra vigilant for any fake incursions that may emulate a real invasion. D-Day, German Observation post On that night of 6 June none of us expected the invasion any more. There was a strong wind, thick cloud cover, and the enemy aircraft had not bothered us more that day than usual. But then -- in the night -- the air was full of innumerable planes. We thought, "What are they demolishing tonight?" But then it started. I was at the wireless set myself. One message followed the other. "Parachutists landing here - gliders landing there," and finally "Landing craft approaching." Some of our guns fired as best they could. In the morning a huge naval force was sighted - that was the last report our advanced observation posts could send us.

3 days to go! Can't wait to repel the invading forces. This time the Yanks shall not prevail. Our 3 gazillion watt search light will feret out any night incursion into France. ;D
Remember everyone, this will be the last event for quite a while, there is still time to join if you want to partake in this one.

Plan on sending in 4 registrations for the Axis side.
This is probably the last event for quite a while guys. Get your registrations in soon and try to make this one.
Early June is perfect weather for these and you should all try and make this before the onset of hot summer.
If there are not enough attendees for this one I fear we may not get another one until at least October or November.
Let's go gents keep the WW2 Airsoft reenactment hobby going, register!

What are these grenades like? Just curious as I've never used any type of grenade before. These grenades are fantastic, extremely loud and large kill radius! The person on the receiving end will piss in their pants when getting one and you will piss in your pants when throwing one. Either way they are a real pisser of a grenade!! ;D
