Last weekend my m1942 jump pants (unreinforced) ripped at the knees and the left trouser pocket ripped open from carrying too many ICS M1 clips. Before everyone tells me to just buy a reinforced m42 jumpsuit, I prefer wearing the unreinforced m42 because I like portraying the 82nd and 509thPIB in Italy. Airborne units pre normandy or Operation dragoon wore the unreinforced m42 jumpsuit. Since it wasn't reinforced, they were known for ripping at the crotch, knees, and the trouser pockets. Ive heard of paratroopers modifying their jumpsuits by reinforcing it with any material they could get there hands on. Can anyone give me ideas on how to strengthen my m42 jumpsuit? I found a couple pics, im just not sure what to do yet.

I lost the front sight to my ICS M1 Garand. It mite be in my garage but if I cant find it, Id like to know where I could possibly get a new one. Would an original M1 Garand sight work?

The ultimate point is that it should not have to do with looks. If its just looks, it might as well be modern airsoft with ww2 gear. It should be about true interest in the unit. Moreso, if youre going to portray a unit like the 101st, you should have FULL gear, including m1943s, etc. I have to disagree with that. If we want to grow the sport, I dont think we should force anyone into buying every uniform worn by a particular unit. It would be better if you based your unit around D-Day for example, since its most peoples' favorite operation. If I were to a start a WW2 Airsoft unit, I would have the team portray USMC infantry or USGI Normandy. I would tell them to buy an ATF Summer m41, any type of OD Pants, repro leggings worn with brown leather shoes or desert boots, and any M1 Helmet. Of course it will look f.a.r.by at first, but overtime you can help newcomers improve their impressions. An impression like that should only cost somewhere in the $100 range. I live in SoCal where modern airsoft is extremely popular. It's hard around here to get new guys to join the hobby. Most assume WW2 impressions are too expensive.

Honestly if we could get airsofters doing any WW2 impression it would help the hobby. Yesterday I tried selling a ton of used WW2 web gear sets and M42 Paratrooper uniforms for dirt cheap at an airsoft swap meet. I didnt sell one piece of WW2 Gear, besides some 1911 holsters. Even though everyone was complimenting me on my WW2 Airsoft loadout that day, no one really wanted to spend money on setting up a WW2 Airsoft loadout. I dont think we should be picky when it comes to newcomers choosing WW2 impressions.

Hey guys,
I received my ICS M1 Garand from Airsoft GI yesterday. The gun is beautiful, but it has a couple problems. I ran into these problems. - Every 1st shot no bbs are discharged but 2nd shot and afterwards shoots fine - sometimes runs itself into full auto (3-7 round bursts) - The Mags are supposed to shoot 42 rounds? Mine shoots like 30 per mag
Ive put around 400 rounds through it using a 9.6v battery and fired the ICS bbs it came with and .25 madbull bio bbs.
Im most likely gonna return it unless there is an easy solution to this.

My friends and I used to do musket or line battles. We all bought these cheap SKS airsoft spring rifles off ebay that came with bayonets. We would load 1 bb at a time to simulate the reloading slow time of a musket. And if we were feeling like a WW1 style game, each team would have 1 AEG with an almost dead battery to act as a LMG. It was the funnest types of airsoft ive ever played.

I've seen several YouTube videos of people chronoing the ICS M1. The airsoft gi review chronoed the m1 at 350 fps. A Chinese airsoft company chronoed it at 420. The last one i saw was from a small airsofy shop and they chronoed it at 390.

I know a lot of people arent huge fans of electric blowback, but I was liked it because I use a lot of gas and electric blowback airsoft guns in my short movies. 2nd Bat I totally agree with you. It honestly comes down to whatever rifle fits best for the buyer. I like the ICS so far for its 42rnd capacity and price. The ICS will be a very good airsoft weapon not just for WW2 games, but even regular airsoft games. The G&G has a better finish and is compatible with there m14 parts.

My dad who also attended the shotshow said the G&G was all around better. The wood finish was more realistic. For me the deciding factor will be the price. I think the G&g will attempt to 1 up ICS. i don't think its possible to have a top loading AEG or ejecting clip since they're using a m14 gearbox. So I think they will make it electric blowback. Idk what else they could do to make it internally better than ICS.

Thats a really good idea. Recently ive been thinking about ways to strap a gopro to a WW2 US Loadout without it looking cheesy.

I have no idea which garand to get. Idk If I should take the opportunity now and preorder the ICS m1 on evike or wait and see wat the G&G has to offer. I'm so curious to why they covered the g&g reciever at the shotshow. I bet the g&g is electric blow back cuz idk wat else would make it better than the ICS.

AEG blowback would have worked well

I think G&G is doing a marketing technique. Since ICS has revealed its going to be using a 42rnd magazine maybe they hid the reciever to get people to hold off on the ICS and wait and see wat the G&G has to offer.
