Jared all your impressions are awesome! There's almost nothing you need to improve on. For your marine kit if you add the 41 suspenders, poncho, and tent half I'd say it would be 100%! If you are at all confused about how the suspenders work with the pack I found this great guide. m1pencil.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/usmc-m1941-pack-configuration-guide/

What impression are you going to do with it? If you are doing airborne I highly recommend the m1 rigger pouches for the mags, they are a lot easier to use then the bandolier. Although if you are doing any other impression then they would be wrong. Alternatively I know some of the cheapo cartridge belts will hold the mags, but from what I've heard the nicer ones won't fit them. I'm using a bandolier since I usually do marine impression, it's difficult to use but doable with some practice.

As badass as the BAR is I wouldn't recommend it. i have the matrix one and it has been somewhat problematic. Mine had feeding problems and hop up issues from the get-go. The fact that it has no midcap mags is also a bummer. On the flip side though it has good range and definitely has a cool factor.

I just picked up an ICS garand from airsoftgi.com for 270 + tax. It is an awesome gun right out of the box. It delivers the range an accuracy needed to keep up with and even out preform most stock aegs. I highly recommend it.

I did this exact thing to mine. I did it by grinding the front nub and the side lip off of the handguard attachment piece (can't see it in pic but if you get the 1928 forend you'll know what I'm referring to). Took a bit of work but after some grinding, the original m1a1 handguard wedged itself on and I put some superglue to insure it stayed there. It doesn't have the center screw but it's still super reliable and I can sling it without worry. End result

Updated my impressions a bit, marine and airborne. Constructive criticism appreciated.

Does anyone have one of these yet? I'm fixating on it and am wondering if they are functional and reliable.

There's no website it's just some private property we have been playing at for years, the cops and property owners know we play there and don't bother us. It's rad though, really good turnouts usually like 15-25 players. All modern kits but everyone's cool

Yes! Jericho.... I've gone a few times but I really hate that guy who runs it. I play at a free field called wasteland in Huntington Beach every saturday. You should cruise down sometime

I am wondering if anyone on this board lives in orange county. There is a huge airsoft community here but not much interest in ww2 airsoft. I am somewhat famous at the local fields for being the only one doing ww2 impressions but I know there has to be more out there. I know 1 or 2 guys from the regiment but I believe they spend their time doing modern russian impressions now. Anyways if you're in the orange county area post up and let's get some ww2 airsoft going!
Also on a side note, if anyone knows of blank fire reenactment in this area I need info on that as well.

Hey, sweet impression Dracul! I've heard of desert fox field I think it's in my area. If you live anywhere near south orange county my team plays at a free field in Huntington Beach every saturday. I'm the only ww2 player at the moment but it would be cool to have more down there. Pm me about it if your interested Here is my latest impression Marine raider It's all army gear besides the p42's but I've heard they got some army gear so it meets my requirements. Open to criticism. GUNG HO raiders!

Here are a couple pics from airsofting today. I am going for a infantry nco impression as I don't do reenactment or living history and my airsoft team is pretty mellow on uniform requirements. Still need my m41 jacket and to decide on a unit or just use my airsoft team patch as my unit. I have a couple questions for the more knowledgeable guys on here. Is the 1912 holster I have blatantly wrong or were these available for private purchase. Were N.C.O.s the only guys who got tommys?

Thank you for the compliment. You would be right but it's an ak sling with leather strips on both ends of the sling. I still need to get a correct one.

Here's a pic of me at Operation Take Back this past weekend. Im halfway between infantry and airborne as I was originally gonna do airborne but later down the line decided on infantry. Hopefully one day my kit will be worthy of the stich nahtzees thread.

I think doc martins make a good substitute if you can find them in a decent color. Although they are close to the price of the repro ATF boots.
