My updated Normandy kit... I would still like to get a thompson ammo bag, some dummy grenades, an E tool and a few other little details but that will be on the back burner until spring/summer when I'd be able to use the kit at an event. Sorry for the poor quality pictures...

Was it common for troopers to carry 1911's and if so during which stages of the war? I saw somewhere that most were issued them for D-Day but not afterwards and use declined, does this mean having one for market garden or the battle of the bulge would be uncommon? Also I've seen hip and shoulder holsters in use was this just based on individual preference?

Finally got around to posting an update on my web gear, working on a D-Day / Normandy para kit. Also, was it uncommon to see rigger pouches used later into the war?
