You're kidding right? Look above in the technical thread. jimmiroquai just got thru building one. Besides him the only other custom FG42 I ever saw on these boards was built by Schmitty and he seldom logs on anymore. Good luck on getting that order filled.

Well then your search is over. It's obvious that jimmiroquai has the know how to build you an airsoft FG42. Now all you have to do is to contact him and settle on a price. I guess you'll find out "how much" you want one.

With custom, one off work, on something as challenging as the FG that's not a silly question.

well-jimmiroquai sadly cant ship out of the country he lives in but, i cant give up that easy ;D all find one someday! Now that my G43 project is complete, I can get back to my FG42 build. This is a 3d printed scratch build and I have already started it a little over 2 years ago (due to the G43 build I placed the project on hold). If you, or anyone else would like to follow my build you may request access here: www.facebook.com/groups/426876244104566/

That link says the page no longer exists, but it sounds like it does. I'd love to join if possible.

It's amazing to see this type of innovation come to our niche hobby. Can't wait to see updates on it and the G43!

The G43 is a far easier project and from the looks of it is executed very well. Depending of course on price point it should sell very well as it should be an easy conversion for most people to complete. I can't see how the FJ42 could end up as straight forward. Anxious to follow both.

(Still researching this). - *Already purchased the ZB26 Magazine (high cap) but I will need to modify it to fit the sten hop up. *Also plan to convert to mid cap (in the future). - I plan to re-enforce the bipod with metal bars or threaded bars to give strength to the Abs bipod. (On the inside of the designs) - *Note on the gearbox, the sten gearbox is built like the mp40 gearbox with the trigger at the end, my plan is to leave the hopup/gearbox/motor in line, and reposition the trigger system. - Hydro dip the hand guard and stock (same as the G43 project)

This effort and the G43 are impressive efforts and could turn out to be the answer to those of us looking for additional weapons opportunities for us DIYs. Steve has a bunch of other projects in the works that address quite a few vacancies for our hobby. Welcome to the community.

The M16 VN magazines feature a centered feed hole which might be worth considering. An appropriate looking outer jacket as is done with the BAR could be created? In this way real cap, low cap or midcap magazines could be offered. Just a thought?
Excited to see this and the G43 along with the other creative 3D printer offerings.

Good idea! Considering the ZB26 (High cap) Magazine I bought doesn't fit the hopup. I may have to modify the opening on the mag to match the Sten Hop. The M16 mags might work in a FG42 mag jacket, at least this way I wont have to convert into mid caps. But if they are center feed I would lose a couple of inches in the front of the receiver. Anyway, it might be worth a try. The FG42 is WIP and I should be jumping back into it in the next month or so.
Regards!

The beauty of the M16 mag (if it can be made to work of course) is that is soooo available from soooo many sources and in a variety of configurations. The cheap plastic VN sized versions can easily be cut, shaved down and modified without much effort.
