Dont think you'll have any luck with the high top boots.

I bought a set in the mid 90's from Brigade Quartermaster. Never seen them since though.

Ive seen photos of paramarines in the early stages of the war wearing the HBT coveralls for jumpsuits. Not sure if thats absolutely correct, but it could be worth a shot.

I know the Raiders wore logger boots as well, might be able to find Redwing boots that if you put the proper sole on them could pass for Para Marine boots.

The hiki shop stuff is actually quite decent. The camo m42s were issued to OSS operatives who jumped into France.

Interesting topic, something I'm not familiar with, but you got me doing some Googling on it. Thanks. Just a thought. If you have a wife or girlfriend who sews, Sportsmansguide sells a repro camo HBT jacket that could be modified to look like a type II smock cut down to a jacket. I found one website that said that was frequently done to the smocks. Basically change the pockets to the slant type and add snaps.

Now, a weapon, can anyone build a M1941 Johnson LMG? PS if I get a Johnson I'll definitely be at Operation Tenaru!

Wish I had seen this earlier, I hope the the 'camo' jump suit isn't the one that's sold on evilbay and looks like the army's 43 jump suit. If so, you wasted your money. I almost bought some, did some research and foun out those are just 'fantasy' copies. So, I just settled for the hbt's, standard issue in combat and the 'Chutes wore the M43 Camo's in Choisuel and Bougainville.

Two good references for ParaMarines, "ParaMarine" and "Silk Chutes and Hard Fighting". Also another good reference that tells of the 1st Parachute Bn at Tulagi, Gavutu and Gudalcanal is 'Battalion of the Damned" and the second book by the Author, "Mission Raise Hell, the Marine Parachute Bn's on Choisuel". ParaMarine is the "bible" of Chute enthusiasts, it goes into everything about them, dress uniforms, utilities, weapons, gear, etc and all information is obtained from old 'Chutes. The author is a former Navy Officer who was assigned to a Marine ANGLICO Company, Airborne. Normally goes for in the 90's, but I got my copy in excellent conditon on Amazon fo r45.00.

In the book 'ParaMarine', theres a photo of a set of 'rigger' modified jumpsuit/coveralls. The stitched a set of HBT's together. Thinking of doing that myself. Yes, also on boots, the Chutes did wear the Army style toe capped boot as well, although the plain toe was more known and trying to find a pair....hard.
