To my surprise I have not seen a post yet, I guess I will go first. So the G&G M1 Garand is no surprise nor is the M1903. What catches my eye is the polished M1903 and what appears to be a shell ejecting M91/30. Thoughts!

Cool, a m1903, a chrome m1903, a m91/30, a M1, and 57 AK's

Actual Springfields were often chromed in order to serve as parade drill rifes for precision drill teams. Obviously that is what they are replicating.

im wondering maybe the chrome one is gonna be a gas powered m1903 and they are trying to improve on it based on their k98 they released earlier this year.

Way to go g&g about thinking of making new WWII weapons. As long as the mg42 is under 500 bucks!

Oh man oh man, I would totally freak over a G&G MG42. More photos.

I wonder about that bayonet. I would bet that the 1903 will mimic at least close to the price of the g980

The bayonet mirrors what you see from elite drill weapons. Chromed with a white sheath matching the members white gloves and usually white belts. Helmets are often white or chrome.

all things considered, its quite possible to put a spring loaded 20 or so shot 'magazine' in the form of that 5 round stripper into the breach allowing you to 'seat rounds' and enjoy a more skirmish-able weapon. it would seat lower so the bolt could travel overhead and would need a raised nipple like top as seen on many pistol mags.
an approach like that would split the difference effectively .

I agree with tom. I would love to see manufacturers do up the bolt actions so you cock back the bolt and use your speed loader to chunk in rounds. Something similar would have been cool for the Garand but I understand that the gear box is in the way on an AEG.

And/or a speedloader cosmetically shaped like five rounds on a stripper clip. Open the bolt, place it in the receiver and plunger in BBs.

if it's going to be CO2 like the k98 then you'd still have to take out the mag to replace cartriges. but i agree, a stripperclip speed loader would be cool.

I am encouraged by the model designation M1 1942. Perhaps that is a reference to an effort by them to incorporate many of the subtle but highly prized design elements of the early war Garands. The magazine has clearly been the stumbling block for finalization of GnG s M1. Initially they announced it as 12 rounds, then 30 then 20. clearly they have decided to go an entirely different direction by coming up with a built in Hi Cap. It will be fascinating to see how that is executed. The ICS Garand is fabulous but there are broad opportunities for GnG to step in with a decided step up. How cool is this that we have TWO companies going after our niche

I agree with you on the mags. Hopefully G&G will decide to release a midcap mag after the initial release. I have a feeling, after reading that the developers had access to a RS garand while designing, that the G&G model will be much more accurate than the ICS model in dimensions.

So to reload, you have to take the magazine out, pour the BBs into the gun, then put the magazine back in.
Yup. Sticking to the ICS.

I thought they were saying the mag is an internal mag so it couldn't be removed?

I read it to mean the bb reservoir is built into the gun. You pour in BBs when it's empty. The winding part of the high cap however is removed and either rewound or replaced with an already wound unit. I could be way off with that but that is how I understood it. A reservoirwith BBs rattling around does not appeal to me. Hopefully that is not their direction.

A bayonet fits perfectly on my 2nd Bat Garand. The recruit edition with the molded parts aren't strong enough for a bayonet over time but the bulk of my Garands were made using the actual Garand gas assembly so both a real or fake bayonet go right on and click into place just as they should. (shamless plug)

I hope to God it doesn't turn out to be a baby rattle garand...that would absolutely murder any chance of stealth or authenticity IMO.
never thought I'd be taking an ICS gun over a G&G

Odds are if the reservoir is within the Garand body it won't rattle too badly although the whoe idea of it just seems wrong. I'm confident they thought it through well. (I hope!)

Maybe there's some foam lining or something inside to keep it from rattling? That'd be a good idea

A video from Shot Show 2014 about the G&G 1903. Not sure if the details shared by Max are correct, as he was flat out wrong on several points during his VSS interview. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcrxJCBCtww

The oversized bolt was a mystery in the early pictures but we now know just like their kar 98 gas replica it is the hop up. I like that it will be CO2 as I really prefer the consistency of that gas. i also like that it will share the same mags which simplifys everything. Hope to see a similar vinyette on their M1 Garand.
