Cool. That would look good in a vehicle. The Muzzle looks kinda funny though. But that wouldn't be too hard to correct if everything else works good.

I'd be more worried on if its a muffin tin or something else to hold bb's.

. . . an M60, which is based off the MG42 is only $400 . . . I would expect this to be similar in price.

I agree. Much as it might be appealing the price point needs to be somewhat in line with the AnK M60 M249 for it to have an impact on our Hobby. Frankly such an offering seems way overdue.

Unlike a lot of WWII weapons, there's also the potential for use in a more modern loadout as well. Find a black stock, slap it on, and call it an MG-3.

For Aegs, pot metal doesn't matter as much as gas guns. There aren't as many pieces slamming into each other.

I guess I've been blessed in that I haven't had the issues with the zync alloy metals that a lot of people seem to have. My M60 has seen lots of use at a lot of events and has been loaned out extensively. Everything remains intact and functional. You have to appreciate that the bipod legs are going to require a little care and that they can't be slammed around like a real one. Though much higher quality and two and a half times the price, the same was true of my VFC M60. I sold it and bought two a&Ks with money for extra box magazines. Tough to justify the extra cost given the slight gaps in authenticity and build quality. My thinking was if one went down I'd still have another and in fact both continue to work fine.
All this disussion prompted by an advanced teaser on an offering we really know nothing about.

Would you think it is based off the A&K? Shoei?(I hope not). VFC?

If it is Martix / Echo 1, its going to most likely be a clone of the VFC. Seeing as they cloned the VFC M1918a2, and the clone of that has pretty rigid build quality from what I've heard. So an Echo 1/Matrix Mg42 VFC clone will most likely have pretty good build quality, and hopefully a price point not much higher than their BAR offering!

Maybe a .30 cal to follow? it's always fun to dream a little. Based on past sneek peeks, this one is probably a couple years away.

It's allot further along then the BAR preview was, so early-mid next year?
We may also get a steel bipod since we got one with the BAR. Of course that's just pure speculation.

hopefully a price point not much higher than their BAR offering! IMO, the perfect price for an MG42 or a 30cal is $5-600. It's expensive enough so not everyone and their mother has one, but enough to see a decent number on the field.

I agree with that but the awkward reality of fielding it will still have the same effect at $450.00.

The "Everyone will have one" stigma is getting really ridiculous. Like if they're getting it for historical Airsoft they already know what's what. Or if some random bloke wants to be that cool guy or just likes it, then good! The More people buy, the more likely they'll want a Kit to match their gear, the more likely they'll find out about WWII Airsoft, then they do research and then we get more players. Limiting quantity by setting a high price is a very poor decision, it's better to get people interested and hooked, Then start to educate them. Sure short term will be kinda messy but after that you have an influx of more player's in proper kit and most importantly, having fun doing so. Also we get more weapons if they sell well as well
