I've taken a liking to both the matrix Mosin Nagant and the ICS M1 Garand and was just wondering which was a better rifle

Really depends. Both are not terribly authentic (Mosin with ABS stock, Garand with messed up gas block and M14 trigger guard). Both fire in the 400 fps range. However, the ICS Garand is upgradeable, whereas I have no idea about the Mosin.

Do you know if one is more skirmishable than the other?

I would say the ICS, as it is a semiautomatic AEG, while the Mosin is a gas gun, so it has cooldown.

Well the m1 would run like an m14; as long as the battery gas juice, it will fire. For the nagant, you are limited to the amount of gas the bolt will hold. So you will need to carry a gas can with you. Also, the m1 will have a more consistant fps and can be used year round, where the nagant is limited to warm weather use. IMO the M1 is more skirmishable, but in reality both would be good battle rifles for each respective nation.

In line with reality the bolt action rifle is severely disadvantaged when up against a semi automatic rifle. The ICS Garand is absolutely skirmishable and in spite of a few relatively minor visual infidlities is an excellent offering. Having never owned or fired the Matrix Nagant I can only go off what I have read and the opinions of others. As for the ICS M1 Garand I have put thousands of rounds through mine and find it consistent, accurate and reliable.

Slightly lower fps,but generally the same. There are some reviews on the UK Forum (I wonder why?).

Matrix mosin is real wood btw and has i believe 100+ more fps then the enfield.
Figure out what kit you want to do and realize this, bolt action vs semi auto's and full auto's makes you very concise about your shots.
Now I have been slowly making my IJA kit and have been using a tm g-spec(shortened vsr10)in place of an arisaka. While I like running around with a bolt action, going against random people that aren't ww2 reenacting, you are pretty disadvantaged. On another note, I taped a bayonet to the suppressor for lolz =P yet to get a kill that way though =S

The fact that a semi auto allows you to keep the muzzle on target between shots and that you can put more of those focused shots downrage quicker mens that head to head the ICS will provide significant tactical advantage. The 30 plus shots fired as quick as you can squeaze the trigger and the reliable and consistent 400 fps power of the garand also makes the comparison a no brainer. Having said that there is definitely something o be said for the feel of a bolt action and the added sound of a gas gun. Like all things in airsoft it comes down to personl choice and individual preference. I think they would both be cool guns to own although i believe there is far less chance of disappointment with the ICS Garand. i absolutely love mine and can't say enough good things about it.
