Gentleman, my name is Chris co-founder of the non-profit WarFighter Airsoft meant to introduce airsoft to military veterans. I've always been interested in getting into the World War 2 community however found it difficult because that community seemed so few and far between. But with a bit of research saw that there is a community present. So what I would like to propose to you all is WarFighter hosting a private game at SC Village. This game will 1. be free for the 1st 3 military veterans to register with us 2. be open for anyone interested with just the simple rule of having a WW2 weapon to play with.
I was hoping to see if anyone here would be interested in attending, showing up in full kit to show and encourage others to grow this community.
This wont be a milsim game, simply a game for fun using these time period weapons and kit and again encouraging others to join the community. We would like to do a number of these games and once there is a larger community plan a milsim game. But that's in the future. Also would like to have a raffle, prizes being parts of gear etc to help improve kit.
Please let me know what you all think. Thanks for your time.

That's a great idea. Zillions of people have Thompsons, so you'll probably get a great turnout. I wish I could come but I live 2000 miles away lol.

very interested. Can you give more details. If for instance: the game play will focus on wwII tactics or simply be a spray and pray with ww2 weapons [preferably the former]. Whats the uniforming standard, We understand getting started and make it accommodating but whats the base line. I'm all for supporting a new effort to turn up the heat on ww2 airsoft. Should this get a good date and the game shape up its likely our collection of ww2 players could field 8 fully geared, weaponed participants either german or 82 nd AB Normandy impressions

Glad to hear there are some people interested.
So gameplay wise this wont be on the milsim/tactically heavy side. But at the same time I will try and avoid making this a "spray and pray" type of game. For the first game the rules for attendance is simply having a World War 2 gun no uniform regulations. I myself don't even have them (working on it). However after the first couple games, uniform standards will increase. I'm fairly confident on this gaining popularity due to those I already having planning on attending.
Unfortunately though due to scheduling the first game is looking likely to happen first weekend of December.

sounds good.
Ill share this with the crew.
I understand the uniforming strategy and applaud the ww2 guns only approach.
May I suggest you limit weapons to single shot allowing NCOs' officers to go auto. Actual LMG's being the exception . i
it really helps promote the use of ww2 type tactics that to date 98% of the players we have had have appreciated [and that for games in which we have had 25-40 fully kitted ww2 players] additionally encouraging the use of thunder B grenades also takes it up a notch as the players will find grenades incredibly useful in softening a position.
does the field require full face mask? I'm not familiar with their rules, i'll research it.
with a soft count I feel solid saying there are 6-8 players with full ww2 impressions that would attend, that number could optimistically go up , again with fully kitted players. We regularly got 12-16 so if this is done with the right touch I believe you'll be pleased with potential attendance
I look forward to a confirmation of an event in december-ish

Make this happen! photo emphasize the kitted up folks and build momentum. I agree completely with the semi auto emphasis and even if you just require it intially for a round or two you'll probably find that people really really enjoy it. aking it easier and easier to implement moving forward.

Gentleman, the wheels are turning. My non-profit WarFighter Airsoft will host a WW2 private game/event at DesertFox MOUT field the first saturday of December. Appropriately enough that is the 7th. Veterans who register beforehand and show proof of military service get free entry.

This is great! I am very excited to go to this! I have a full 82nd loadout w/ an m1a1 thompson. My cousin would also join and he has a full ww2 russian loadout complete with a commander hat, medals on his chest, and a ppsh in hand (Lol). Any chance of having an event like this at SC village? Its really close to my house........ Not a big deal if not. Another way to help with recruitment is by contacting the 82nd Living History Association based out of Alahambra, Ca. I am technically a member with them but havent been to an event, yet. I know most of them airsoft though and dress the part of the 82nd AB. Their facebook is www.facebook.com/pages/82nd-Airborne-Living-History-Association/117953758254552Thanks, Sgt. Joe_Bakka

Im not too sure what happened to SC.... Im still in for it and they have a few maps that could be suitable for WW2. We would just have to work around paintball because they usually seem to have privilege there...

the change to DesertFox MOUT from SC is due to a few reasons.
1 there are only 2 fields meant for airsoft which aren't the greatest. Movement on either side can be stopped by 4 decent players. That's something we want to avoid, we don't want to you paying to play a game that is just sitting on a corner for the entire time.
2. game time, if we do a private game we only get 15 minutes game time per field before we have to rotate out. If we want much longer times we'd have to pay the field for an event something my Non-Profit cannot afford.
3. the field designs. the 2 airsoft fields are meant for highspeed CQB, M4s and modern combat. Makes it very difficult for people to play when using long guns. Is this more realistic? yes. Does it make good gameplay? Only for a small group, the majority want to be able to move around, shoot and scoot. Other fields that would work out best are covered in paint which I personally hate playing on. And I'd hate to see your guy's kits get messed up due to paint.
4. Eye pro, face pro, ear pro. Whole lot of protection that get's away from everyone's kit.
Those are the cons for SC. Now I know MOUT is a drive but I feel that this field will be the best suited for this type of game.
1. Jet the owner is a personal friend and can get the field for the day at much cheaper costs.
2. Can run the field however we see fit.
3. Large field, meaning if you get pinned, start suppressing and hit the flanks. something not so feasible with SC.
4. For those 18+ you only need eye pro, in most cases (but don't quote me on this) shooting glasses were enough.
Other things possible that I've done before at the field was having a bonfire at the end of the day. Lot of fun swapping stories etc. Something I'm going to try and do again for this game.

all solid reasons, the added drove was juts a touch of a jolt.
We're still getting two fully kitted groups together a US Airborne Squad and a mixed Heer Recce /FJ unit.
We're excited to see new interest in SOCAL and would love to help capture peoples interest in building their own impressions/joining a unit.
I'll bring Both My MG42 and M1919. Im hoping to have polar star units for at least one by then so the weapon 'fields' like a true MG against WW2 small arms.
Keep us posted.

If you have not heard already We had to cancel this game due to too low of a registration. We're disappointed on our end but will try again in the future.
