Until i see an item for sale (not presale, or "coming"). It is vaporware. I do believe the GnG Garand is in fact eventually going to be a product offering but as I stated two years ago when it was first "leaked". i knew it would be a long way from coming out. When they announced an expected deliver in October I was thinking....well maybe, maybe in time for a Christmas delivery.
The great news is that so many of these things that never seemed to materialize are lately actually getting built and sold. Hopefully in sufficient numbers to warrant their production.

Well I quarried them about the garand and the 1903 and the response was
"We are still undergoing final development. You should see both rifles released soon. We know you have been patiently waiting for years and we're trying our best to release it ASAP."

Magazine decisions and capacity sems to be the final work remaining. Last I heard they were discussing a HIGH CAP internal magazine. Not sure how that will work out. I remain optimistic but truthfully don't like the sound of that at all.

But unfortunately a high cap as I understand. Apparently 20 rounds at that?). I am not a fan of the wind up mags. Too distracting an action, they rattle and while I understand there are a lot of players who prefer them, typically the historical niche of the market prefer low or mid caps. The ICS feeds 30 to 32 rounds, (supposedly 42 but there is no way). I find 24 to 36 rounds perfect frankly. It gets you plenty of rounds down range, approximates the 3 to 4: to 1 ratio that should be a standard for our hobby and neccessitates just enough mag changes to keep things interesting and team oriented. 20 rounds is going to be a challenge unless reloads are smooth or perhaps somehow more authentic. (squeaze rounds in from the top?)
I do expect the GnG to be somewhat more correct in terms of shape than the ICS but I personally have no issues with the ICS as long as you don't line it up side by side with a real Garand. i'd love it if the GnG incorporated a replication of the rare and uber valuable early war Garands with the single slot gas lock, sight locks, older trigger guard and slotted handguard hardware, proper butt plate but i truly don't expect to see that.
The GnG will have to truly be fabulous to out do the ICS as it is exceptionally nice. It seems the price point on the ICS is $350 to $450.00. It will be interesting to see what the GnG comes in at once the introductory pricing settles in. They could go up somewhat or down? The stock FPS at 330 to 350 is fine if correct. My ICS Chronos at 415 to 420 and that is actually harder then it needs to be.
It will be awesome when we truly have two viable choices for Garand AEG. obviously folks with 2nd Bat conversions or home mades will want to liquidate them while ther is still something of a potential market. i'm still fine with how they function and look and kept one of all three versions I produced.

While I understand and agree with the need for good AEG Garands, we also need cheaper Garands and possibly more GBBs(we need more GBB everything). GBBs, while not as reliable as AEGs, are certainly more realistic.

I actually prefer gas guns over an AEG unless it's blowback. Blowback and gas guns for the most part isn't a good combination, actually electric blowback isn't all that good either. Blowback on airsoft guns, they cause a lot of problems and in my opinion they have more cons than pros. Honestly I think non-blowback gas guns are the best. I own a couple of gas pistols and revolvers which are the most reliable out of all my airsoft guns. I've always had really bad luck with AEG's anyways and over time I ended up building a few rifle conversions and most of the time I've been using those.
I think a co2/green gas powered M1 that holds about 30-40 rounds would work out pretty good, but that would be a bit unlikely since most prefer AEG's. I've recently decided it is best to just "go with the flow", and use what your teammates are using

I am perplexed by your issue with AEGs. I have purchased and tested literally over 500 of them and own about 30 currently (some of which I have owned for 14 years.) Very very few failures with any of them. (perhaps nine that required repairs.). On the other hand i have owned a dozen gas guns and have have experienced frustration and failures with all but the non blow back. The only reasonably reliable gas blow back rifle has been my Marushin CO2 carbine and it is marginally skirmishable.
Proper charging of the batteries is the key and unless absolutely neccessary do not crack open the gear box or upgrade the AEGs Go stock all the way, keep them lubed and clean with pure silicon oil, don't store them in a cocked position or store your mags full and you are good to go.

Why did i know you were going to say that? I am confused as to why a scale and exact replica of the entire Gas assembly wasn't used on the ICS. hopefully for the GnG the whole shape and size will be more authentic. From early pictures it appears that it will be. The ICS is a little off throughout. Not overly distracting in my opinion but so avoidable that it's kind of irritating. Really my only complaint about the gun. Gas assembly, oversized sling hardware and bulbous butt plate otherwise fabulous.
With regard to the GnG when they talk about a high cap internal mag they MUST mean 200 rounds not 20 don't you think? It will be interesting. I wonder if the ICSs are selling well enough for GnG to want to proceed? Hopefully they are.

Well, airsoftgi has been out of stock 10-15 times in the past two months, so... Also, I don't have an issue with AEGs, I just really like the added realism of gas guns. I will almost certainly be getting a GnG M1 when it comes out. I also still stand by that we need a $200-250 Garand. With that and the Red Fire K98, WWII airsoft will explode.

I agree completely. I too will be getting a GnG Garand and look forward to being able to do an unbiased side by side comparison. if a plastic stock Garand AEG with good visual authenticity and skirmishable performance at under $250.00 we'd really be off and running.
We are certainly a long way from few choices and everything decent other then a Thompson being $1200.00 plus!

You don't need a rifle.. Just run into combat with a bayonet in each hand!
