I'd have to see if it was twice as good first. The BAR will be for collecting and maybe an occasional loaner so not a lot of heavy use from me. However if the cheap one is going to turn to muck in short order you are better off spending the money to buy a better quality belt.

I would try either the numrich gun parts Bar belts, or try the repro belt at emc militaria.com they have some great webgear for the price and they have been my go to place so far

I had a bakelite black bar buttstock with a manufacturers date of 1944. As i understand it few ended up on rifles in the ETO unless repaired by an armorer. While it is had to tell in B&W pictures there are several in action after Normandy that appear to be plastic rear stocks. In vietnam we had two BARs in the arms room along with an impressive group of US and foreign WW2 vintage weapons. These were available for training on weapon familiarization since WW2 vintage weapons were commonly in use by the VC. Both our Bars had the black rear stock.
I thought i could use the stock in my homebuilt but it wasn't fully hollow or easily adapted and the M14 stock could be authentically modified to work. The actual bakelight stock sold for silly money on ebay considering i got it cheap at a gunshow.

I have all three BAR belts; EMC, Numerich Arms, and ATF. The Numerich one is really a CiDG one from the Vietnam era, and I use it in a SOG load out. The EMC one is affordable, but not quite as large pockets as the real one, I use that for Namsoft as we'll. I had two top eyelets rip out after extended use with web gear. The ATF one is like a new issue belt, but it does cost $80. If your going to spend $350 on the gun and another $ 100 or so on the magazines, I'd go with the ATF one. Just my two cents.
