For the Seventh anniversary of event we will again focus around small unit actions during the Rzhev offensives on the Eastern Front. The battles were during the winters of 41-42 and 42-43. The Rzhev campaign nicknamed the "meatgrinder" was an extremely costly campaign for the Russian high command. The Russians had army strengths equivalent to those on the Stalingrad front but were unable to pull off their desired encirclements in the area of the battles around Rzhev. Still, the attrition hurt the Germans more than it did the attacker and it kept constant pressure on the invader.
LOCATION - 786 Tamarack Trail, Pickerel, WI 54465 or 849 Forest Lane, Pickerel WI 54465 Google either one. One is the house and the other the summer cottage. Either way you're on the property.
Check the scenarios from last year and this year we will switch sides so that the Russians will fight the German ones and vice-versa.
IMPORTANT!
Interested attendees MUST PM me so I can add you to the list. You can use your board names or a real name. I want to know what side you plan on playing or if you are coming as partisan. I will not post members confirming for this event until I have received 14-RSVPs. At that point I will list players coming and if needed, additional information regarding the scenarios. Should I not receive 14-RSVPs by February 20th, there will be a cancellation of the event. That leaves people time to reschedule to do other things. I have no problem going up early to plow roads, set up signs, pull out any vehicles, etc. if there are sufficient numbers for the game but can't justify doing so if there are not. We have played with eleven before and it was fun. I figure setting it at fourteen and counting for last minute cancels will still allow us to have a fun event. Obviously, the more participants, the better. This worked well in the past. You can message me on either these boards or on the WW2AA message boards. SEE YOU IN FEBRUARY/MARCH.
Brief Synopsis of Event -
Friday, 28 Feb 2014 - Arrivals after 2PM. Unlike previous years there will be no meal provided at 8pm. Many of you eat before you come and I am cutting that from the event as it wasn't something that everyone indulged in. Bring your own food and snacks. The site has a full kitchen for cooking and you can whip something up on your own if you want. For those who want one we can ignite a campfire on Friday night. We'll also be watching a movie in the large house if that is your preference. If not, we'll rehash old war stories from prior events.
Saturday, 1 March 2014 - Safety Briefing, chrono, morning skirmishes, break for lunch, afternoon skirmishes, declare winner.
Sunday, 2 March 2014 - reserved for overnight campers who wish to rest prior to departure.
This is a WWII airsoft simulation. Impressions as WWII participants or suitable Partisan/Hiwi fighters are required. Bio-BB only. A limited number will be available at the game. Those will be available at the game at $5/1000 - .20g. A limited number of .28g bios are available at the same price to bolt action rifles. (ie. buy your own if you can) This is a free event with a donation box to help defray hosting costs.
There has always been ample snow cover for this event. That means participants should have proper winter clothing. Make sure you waterproof and sno-seal your boots and bring extra batteries, battery or hand warmers and advisably, a back up weapon. This site does provide warm shelter and water and all the amenities so that participants can relax in comfort prior to the games. There is a lake cottage with beds and a year round home. The first participants to RSVP have first dibs on the beds and the others should plan on toting cots and sleeping bags if they are arriving on Friday.
The site is 35-acres of woods and roads surrounded by water.

Any changes or modifications to these will be explained at the event.
If weather allows and we can use the track we will. But otherwise we plan to have the cycle for armor. No bb fire at the bike but we'll allow nerf weapons to take it out. That's only if it stands in for armor. The extra week might make a difference.
