For U.S. Infantry. Here is what I have so far. Officer's Wool Shirt Officer's Wool Pants Khaki Pant belt (Enlisted Pattern) All web gear except for the belt, and suspenders. Does anyone have any suggestions for Helmet, HBT's, Pistol Belt, Combat Suspenders, Boots, and Gaiters? I'd like to transfer to a blank-fire unit, so I'd like for my impression to be historically accurate. Thanks guys!

Well I think it would help if you specified what unit you are gonna do. Also Most blank firing units won't let you start as an officer. Anyway I can help you with your stuff I just need to know the unit.
Thanks

I plan on doing a 45th Infantry Division impression for the battle of Normandy (157th Infantry Brigade). I'm just doing officer stuff for now, since my Dad was an officer in the actual army, and he gave me his old rank insignia. I will switch to an enlisted impression later when I start blank fire. Thank you for your help.

The key difference between officer and enlisted uniforms are head gear where a braid and insignia are different. Also the wool shirt had epaulets however enlisted men occassionally wore shirts with epaulets.

I actually have access to a lot of original photos of the 45th at Anzio. Let me know if you are interested in seeing them.
This is my recommendations,
Helmet, I can't think of a good place on the top of my head. HBT's, ATF Pistol Belt, Original Combat Suspenders, Original Boots, ATF Gaiters, Original

If I may make a suggestion, having spent nearly 2-3 months before finding my M1 helmet:
if you want brand new, ATF is a good mix of authenticity, quality, and price having seen it up close; it matches my near unissued original very well.
However, if you are on a budget or prefer a beat up one like me, then I strongly suggest going to "auxiliary" sources such as surplus stores, militaria fairs, and thrift stores. It can be a bust at times, but now and again you will find neat stuff.
