those are insanely high fps req's lol In some countries, such as Canada the FPS limitations or limitations in Joules of energy are set at a maximum of 5.0 Joules; calculated with 0.20g before requiring to be registered as a firearm. In other countries like in Europe, specifically Ireland, the limit is set at 1.00 Joules with a 0.20g BB. The limits we set for ourselves here in New York were for safety reason as the United States and New York have not set any laws into motion on the FPS limitations on these fire arms; other than what is considered to be classified as a fire arm verses an air gun etc.. Usually FPS/Joule limitations are negotiated with the insurance policy holders and the organization or are even simply set by the organization. We have used these FPS limits since 2005. I’m confident these FPS limits, which are the maximum we will allow anyone to shoot, are safe. More than often the guns all shoot much lower than these limits.

With sufficient eye protection and a mouth guard there really shouldn't be any hazard other than some discomfort from taking a hit. With the style of play typical at a historical event (limited ammo, more authentic tactically sound volumes of fire) and the mindset of WW2 airsofters the listed FPS is actually quite workable. Unlike most conventional airsoft skirmishes there is very little of the 300 round, spray and pray "sound shots" mindset.

I was really hoping to sneak this in, but found out I have my nephew's 1st Communion that day, so discretion will have to remain the better part of valor. Hope everyone in attendance has fun and stays safe!

Yeah, we are looking to host events again as well like we used to do. Doing these skirmishes and training days will help get people active again. I'd like to make an update, along with myself, I am bringing my brother and his friend on the allied side. One bar gunner and two riflemen Updated at the top. I was really hoping to sneak this in, but found out I have my nephew's 1st Communion that day, so discretion will have to remain the better part of valor. Hope everyone in attendance has fun and stays safe! It’s alright. We will be doing these more regularly. My aim is to do one at least one skirmish/training day every other month until the end of October; with the exception of either going to or hosting a scenario event.

Great to hear Jer! Btw, if anyone needs a uniform to borrow, because I am going as US, I wont be using my Heer uniform. If anyone who wants to go needs a uniform for the axis side let me know and I'll bring it! It's a full kit too, minus the boots, but I have gaitors

The discovery with gaiters is they won't fit over thermal boots or traditional hiking boots. Low quarter shoes are actually best.

Only four days to go guys! Let me know please if you intend to go! Roster updated at top of page. Great to hear Jer! It's a full kit too, minus the boots, but I have gaitors Unless a bunch of Allied guys are going that I don't know about... you are rather outnumbered and outgunned for a proper skirmish. However, we can dig you and your men in like ticks and have fun launching attacks against you from an open field... lol

When I first started WW2 airsofting this Jan, Germans were out numbered and at the last event same thing. And from what I hear, events over the past couple of years have been Allied heavy. Not so for once, hehehe! 8 against 3 are pretty good odds!

It was a lot of fun, and I will definitely try to make the next one. Any excuse to airsoft is good for me.
Raimund has a great group of guys he is bringing up through the ranks and they've got some serious firepower. Although it didnt avail the brave Fallschirm troopen who time and again suffering grave losses, tried to dislodge a stubborn and determined force of dug in Ami's. the Americans did learn though that holding ground with in Germany's Third Reich would be costly and each inch of liberated soil held would be paid for in blood of their comrades.
It was great to see all of you guys, and I cant wait for our next big engagement here in the North East...I heard rumor of doing something in June. Brownien?

MY AAR!!! First I want to say that I had a good time and it was nice to have some allied guys there to train with and against. The scenarios we ran were quick and to the point! I hope we can do more of these with even better participation in the future! Thank you to everyone that came. Here are some Group Pictures: Here are some formation photos and pose shots: We ran multiple drills but I will talk about two in particular. However, note before I do that everyone who was shot had to play dead and stay put and dead except for me, who ran the camera and photos. Anyway, in the very first drill we ran the 1st FJ were to attack a fix allied position. The drill for the 1st FJ was to simply establish superior fire with a direct attack while a fire team broke off from the main attack and flanked on the left to eliminate the allies. Our attempt to establish superior fire was successful although we took two causalities from a BAR gunner. I was shot first while trying to setup my MG-42. However my men quickly took up the task and established suppressive/superior fire pinning down the allied position. See here: Our flanking fire team succeeded and the end results looked a bit like this: The next drill I want to talk about was a drill Nate and I discussed running with his men. This drill we 1st FJ often called the rabbit or a bait and switch. I sat out the drill to film and take pictures while discussing with Nate what the game plan behind the drill was. Essentially, the allies had to draw fire from the attacking FJ and retreat. Meanwhile a detachment of the allies was to remain concealed and hidden until the FJ attackers pushed past them in order to ambush them. It in fact worked extremely well. Single Allied gunmen took out the entire attacking squad of FJ in less than five minutes after two allied soldiers baited them into this little trap and switched from a retreating posture to an attacking posture. The end results looked a little like this: I only wish I could share the four short video clips with everyone here as it was hilarious to watch my recruit’s get surprised as they did.

So here's my AAR.
We started off the day by preparing in the lot and riding up to the backyard field as a group. The first couple sessions were all back and forth, each team getting practice in to attacking, maneuvers, As this being my first real training session, it went real well. I learned many things.
The only thing I could remember quite well was Me and Nate shooting each other as soon as the match started by a broken Truck. The other being the last Skirmish. we practice moving forwards as a group, seeing only 2/3 of the American troops. The last one was hidden in the bushes right against us(Thanks a bunch, Ray)This soldier inside the hedges single-handedly killed most of the FJ troops. And (IMO) the easiest thing to remember for most was my Death. With my STG-44's battery dead, I decided a heroes death would be necessary (not) I ran towards the hedges, finally seeing the American camped there, and being blasted with a full magazine of MP-40 rounds. Oh, and Berkeley's Rain Dance. It overall was a great time! Ill be sure to attend the next one. (Oh, and i wasn't surprised Ray. I knew i was going to get blasted lol)

Allied AAR: We started off getting beat pretty easily the first match. All three of us hunkered down behind our positions, facing the attackers. Our BAR gunner to the front, our rifleman on our left flank and myself working the right flank, also trying to protect our rear. I quickly got hit, opening up our right and rear. My brother Pat the BAR gunner was soon to follow, but managed to get a couple Germans beforehand. Finally, with a jammed rifle, My friend Matt was hit as well, as the flanking Germans moved up from behind. The other most memorable match was when we were again under attack from the Germans coming at us up the hill. With the field split parallel to their attack by a long stretch of hedges, the German forces moved up with an MG crew on either side. I assigned Matt, the newly appointed SMG gunner on point behind a truck on the right side of the divide, and Pat on the BAR, on the same side but further back providing covering fire. I stationed myself on the smaller left side of the divide, hoping to slow up their advance and force them to cross over to our right side, for Pat and Matt to take care of. I quickly realized that the majority of the attack was on the right side, with Pat and Matt easily pinning those forces down before they could get into position. Back on my side, The MG crew had moved up a bit more easily, and had gotten behind cover, all while pinning me down. I managed some lucky bursts, Hitting a rifleman in the open, and a STG gunner popping out from behind a pile of steel wreckage. Realizing the attack had halted momentarily, I decided to move up and find some targets, and BOY DID I! I first moved up to the wreckage not far in front of me, spotting a very unhappy MG gunner in the hedges of the divide. Another lucky shot of mine, hit his "trigger thumb" and put him out of action. Not knowing how many were left alive, I quickly moved forward. At that moment, I saw a handfull of Germans in the hedgerow! Being stuck in the open, and having just startled them upon seeing me, I took off running forward, all while hipfiring my Thompson into the hedges, hitting at least one ass he ran out of ammo in his mag. I quickly reloaded my gun on the run and looped around the far side of the hedgerow to attack the remaining Germans from behind. I soon discovered them all laying on the ground! Typical FJ's napping on the job! I figured that me startling them dislodged them from cover, and had been taken out by either Pat or Matt, who were still at their original positions. I cautiously moved back past the Germans on the ground, allong their original attack route, looking for any straglers. Matt, who didn't recognize me, immediatly opened fire on me! Luckily his shots just missed me as I jumped out of the way all while waving my arms at him frantically! quite confused, I marched back up to my allies positions after not spotting any Germans still up. As we were about to move up to hunt for the hiding stragglers, Ray took a headcount and realized everyone had been hit already! I must say that getting to play in an open field like that with minimal cover, was a breath of fresh air! A nice change of pace from fields mostly covered by trees. And with the ambiance of it all, I could swear i was in a field somewhere Normandy!
