didn't the d-day event have BF guys? The June 2011 event did have blank fire guys, but they were hired actors (or re-enactors) only. Since it was the first time we used such a hybrid situation, we used them strictly for ambiance, especially on the Utah Beach scenario. Their MG42's really added to the whole effect. It was after this event that I tried to incorporate them more into the mix. At first there were no issues, but as time went on, and a few events down the road, frustration grew from event to event and finally erupted in my Hell's Highway event in Nov. 2012.

Doldek-- since you're putting together both Allied and Axis impressions, keep an open mind to going German if it would help the balance of forces, and bring your SS stuff. I can loan you whatever uniform and kit you'd need to flesh it out, as well as a weapon. PM me to discuss brass tacks (and/or if carpooling would help) so as not to hijack the thread. But Axis or Allied, make it up to the game either way!

There were some guys shooting blanks at that event, but they weren't counting anything as hits, just purely for show. Only thing is, besides having blank guns, they also have airsoft guns to actually do some hit taking

Only thing is, besides having blank guns, they also have airsoft guns to actually do some hit taking That scenario seems to work really well. The gun fire effects are great and if they can switch back and forth between blanks and airsoft guns, that's great. It's when you just have the blanks firing at you and they expect you to take the hit EVERY TIME, because they never miss, that's where the problems come up. I think Nate's decision to keep them for effect only is the correct one.

If it would help integrate the BF guys, I'd be glad to shoot some blanks myself, as well as providing whatever spare airsoft guns I have as loaners to them should they decide they'd like to give it a try.

I will most likely be using my RS M1 to burn some blanks and use my kjw m1911 as my backup. You are more than welcome to do the same! I'm hoping to convert my new BF squad to participate in both mediums of reenacting

Any chance of having another trip to GZA one Saturday or Sunday? We haven't done that since that monsoon I've been thinking about doing another event at GZA as we have been gaining some new blood and some old faces have resurfaced. I will put out a poll soon to see what kind of interest we can generate for GZA. Main problem as I've mentioned before is the cost vs attendance. We need to have a 30 plus turnout to make the event affordable. But I don't want to take away from Nate's event right now. If I do something, it would be in August or early fall. Keep the faith, Migs

Migs, an august event would be perfect for me. I've hatched a plan to make it to Nate's event, but it involves many hours of driving and arriving at 4 am.

Shifty: I sincerely hope you can make it, it will be great playing against you.
Migs: Before you book at GZA, talk to me. I don't want to go off half-cocked on anything, but I'm currently working on the possibility of another Connecticut venue. Not sure it will be suitable OR work out, but if it does, I believe it will work out in spades.

Depending on it's location, I'm sure it will bring back some of the CT players that have travel issues with the fields in upstate NY. I would be open to differing to you or co-hosting an event. Give me a call when your ready and we can discuss further. I have some good themed ideas we can kick around. Migs
