Howdy gent's, quick question for you: as I work my way back from the 1970s, through 1960s, and right into the 1950s, I find myself in the need of some M1943 boots for Korea, French Indochina, and when I finally transition into late WWII. I wanted to get everyone's general opinion on which repro brand is the best - in terms of accuracy to the real deal, durability, comfort, and overall quality. I've heard good things about both ATF and WWII impressions, but I haven't heard much about the Sturm boots. If the WWII Impressions ones are considerable better, I have no problem dishing out for good foot wear, but if they're only comparable, the ATF ones are almost $100 cheaper.

ATF is the best value. They aren't that far behind wwii impressions. The sturm ones I have heard are water-soluble. I wouldn't recommend them.

I have owned a pair of ATF 2 Buckle Boots since 2009 and they are still going strong. Quite durable and actually quite comfortable to wear.

I would just go with the ATF double buckles. They will last just as long as the ww2imp. ones but will be more cost effective.
On a a side note, I bought Hessen Antiques' roughout boots last winter, and they have been going strong ever since! I would imagine their roughouts are the same brand as their double buckles, so I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend them either.

My ATF M43's have lasted about two years of every other week usage (when I trample them during lawn and pool care basically). The rubber soles are balding, but the leather parts have held together, as has the stitching on the soles.
I have the distinct feeling that my boots are nearing their end, as my ATF service shoes lasted two years under the same conditions before the soles went kaput. However, for the asking price, I can't fault them.
