I have mags for both (mid caps for Thompson), but I'm not sure how I like the M1903 is coming out. As in the project might turn out awful. I was only throwing extra mags out there for the idea of the bringing my G43.
I wouldn't mind doing recon!

Might take you up on that, but it seems my M1903A4 is turning out well. For some reason I was having second thoughts about it.
Two more questions.
Are their going to be specific medic rules?
Are maps going to be issued?

Lol yea Scott! Plenty of rifles all around!
For medic rules, I wont go too in depth but it will be a card system. Each team will have a medic that will be the sole person able to revive combatants. The cards will be a mix of 3/4 wounded to 1/4 KIA. Some of the wound cards will be minor, slap a bandage on and get back to fighting! Others will be life threatening. Those will need to be treated with bandages and a plasma drip. The plasma drip will denote the resuscitation time. If you aren't treated in time, get a KIA card, or otherwise are dead, you will wait for any combat to move past you, and move back to your respawn point. There you will wait a specified time (varies for either team), and then radio in that you are back alive on the respawn radio. Either you wait until a total of 3 players are respawn end back in for your team, or you recieve orders from your commander to move out or hold in position.
There will also be a Carlisle bandage given out to each soldier. He can use it to either extent the initial bleed out time for himself, or a teammate. In either case, an in injured person must apply the bandage. The key thing with the Carlisle bandage is that you will only recieve on all day! No resupplying! Once yours is used, it cannot be used again!
It may seem a bit complicated now, but the briefing on game day will clear things up a bit more. I think with these rules, a couple casualties will have a greater effect on an attack than just simply respawning.

Alright, sounds interesting.
Any word on the maps? Rather have one before going into this.

The field owner really doesn't have anything made up map wise, but I will be making up maps with the objectives marked, and all roadways for the Germans, and a simpler map for the Americans to falicitate recon operations and gathering intel. I will hand them out upon arrival

Yes, but the woods are so thick in the field area, that the roads don't show up well.

Wow, Germans are going to have to keep their heads down! Two 1903's on the field! Possibly three of us! I'm going to find out for sure whether my group can make it or not either tonight or tomorrow morning. Do you both have scopes mounted on yours?

Scope? You know it! Though, we will have to see how it performs at the game. For some reason I lost like 50 FPS after the mod (from the stock 350). Still seems to shoot consistently and straight though.

Accuracy and consistency is more important, though of course there is a certain point where the trade off is unbalanced. 300-ish fps I feel is a bit low for a bolt action, but you will be able to keep heads down.

I don't run with a scope. Not worth it for the distances an airsoft gun can shoot.

Dracul, if you'd like to borrow it for the event, I have a nice scope that mimics the m1903a4's quite well.

I might take you up on that. Since I'll be getting a new, proper scope eventually. No need to worry about keeping a proper zero until I get what I need. Thank you.

Thanks to Nate for doing a great job on his event. Me and my two boys at a great time and was very happy to see some old friends and meet new ones. Nate and his family went above and beyond once again with preparation, food and of course scenario planning.
Looking forward to the next one.
My AAR to follow.

My wife and I had a great time. We can't wait until the next event.
And we definitely have to thank Nate/Brownien for everything. Game was well thought out, and he went above and beyond by letting us use his shower and letting us crash at his place when it started to rain. Which was a great deal, since the next morning, everyone woke up to torrential down pour and thunder and lightning.
It was also great meeting everyone there from the forums for the first time!
Can't wait for the next game!

It's Tracy! I went and joined so I can keep up with the group; some of my buddies back in MD expressed an interest in playing with us, so hopefully we can bring more people next time!

Nate really outdid himself with the planning and preparations for this event. Even though some people didn't show, I thought the event was excellent. Only a few minor issues with the blankfires and I think that we should probably give blankfire guys an M1 carbine to sling some plastic at the normal airsofters. I made quite a few new friends and met up with some old ones too! Now if we could get an entire event like the second game, it would be beyond fantastic! As an ending note, I'd like to give a shout out to Schwerpunkt, who went above and beyond playing his role as the medic. My AAR will be up soon

Indeed- Nate really outdid himself on this one in terms of planning, as well as giving everyone food, weapons, equipment, and a place to crash Saturday night. Schwerpunkt really went above and beyond in the medic role. My AAR will be up soon as well.

Agreed, and Nate's parents' hospitality was wonderful (so were those muffins, dear god).
I'm eager to see the pictures Carissa took so I can have a badass avatar like everyone else on this site :\

Pics will be up in their own thread in hours, not days. Will probably weave them together with my AAR, so y'all might want to pin your AARs there.
And Wallick, there is one nice combat shot of you-- face partially obscured, but decidedly badass seeing as you're toting that cursed Thompson that kept me on my toes all day.

Welp, here's my AAR So Friday afternoon, Shifty and I arrived at the field and no one else was there yet. That being said, we were slightly confused as to where we should set up. We ran into Nate on the way to the airstrip and he told us that we had already passed the American camp and when I heard that there were going to be two camps, my first thought was, “No Bratwursts for me...”. Sadly I missed out on that particular meal, but the Mandarin Oranges sufficed for that night. The Americans played a bit of cards and exchanged a few stories waiting for Dracul and his wife to show up. I was sound asleep by the time they showed up, so I was introduced at about 4:30 in the morning. We decided to go ahead with the drop, even though the Germans were not very heavy in numbers, so at 0500, we were all geared up and ready to go. We climbed into Nate's jeep four at a time and jumped out. The jumped weren't very separate and we ended up being able to see each other with the jeep's breaklights. No trouble though, and we formed up and moved out. Nate and his friends put together cool defenses and objectives, including trenches and a small gun battery representing the Brecourt Guns. Our objective was to defend the guns for 30 minutes then fall back to a crossroads and defend that for another 30 minutes. I got a kill from a slightly concealed position but the main problem was that the Americans weren't familiar with the German language and didn't understand that he was already dead and kept shooting him. We then switched positions as we deemed it a bit unfair for the Americans who outnumbered the Germans about three to one and that ended up with no clear winner since we were all a bit sleepy and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes! After that we returned to the American base and had a nice breakfast of eggs, sausage, coffee and muffins. More people showed up during the morning and we ended up having just about 25 or so people playing. Somewhere around noon we geared up again and headed out for another game. The American were again tasked with taking the guns and we separated into three different companies. I ended up in C Company and we were tasked with taking the middle while A took the left and B took the right. The Germans set up an impenatrable defense and got A and B company pinned. Wallick and I poured lots of BB's on them from a nice concealed position in the treeline. So much so that even in their pit, we heard someone yell, “Where the he11 is that fire coming from!”. That battle ended in the defeat of American forces. We headed back to our respawn and called over the radio to the Germans and discussed the next game. The American were now on route to take a crossroads. This was possibly the best game of the entire event! We were on route to the German position and an MG42 opened up on our squad. I was hit by a stray BB in the shoulder and was calling for a Medic for about a minute. Schwerpunkt answered my calling and sprinted over to my position. While he was bandaging me he kept talking to me like a medic really would and it made me want to play along even more. It also made the experience that much more emerssive! I was able to return to the battle and fell in with Shifty and Brownien. We were all hiding in a foxhole by a road. The road was being covered either by an MG42 or another automatic weapon. There was a break in the fire and we cover Brown as he runs across the road. We covered each other as we all ran across this tiny little road and made for a treeline. The MG saw us cross and started firing through the treeline toward us. Right there is where I felt like I was really in France fighting the Germans. I looked to my right and saw Brown throw a smoke into the trees and we took cover behind a long mound. Someone else came through and saved us from the MG and we advanced into a foxhole and tried to push forward, the attempt failed and time ran out, so the Americans lost once more. We were all pretty worn out after this battle so we took about a two hour break and then had the last battle of the event. The objective for the Americans was to hold a bridge against the German advance. I took up a position across the bridge in a small foxhole. We also set up a Tommy gun that had a great position to fire on anyone crossing the bridge. I kept some people on the left occupied for about 10 minutes until they actually found out I was there and got a grenade in my foxhole! Not much else happened for the rest of the battle and the Americans defended the bridge for the remaining time. Everyone had a lot of fun and we all popped over to the German camp and had a lengthy conversation about the advancment for the hobby. Some good ideas were thrown around and I hope to see some of them come to fruition. Shifty, Dracul, Wallick and I were all the people left at the field after about 8. We felt some raindrops and decided to get out before it started pouring (which was a good idea) and crashed at Nate's for the night. Shifty and I had to leave at 9 but I was still able to get some muffins (Those were the BEST muffins I've ever had) and we headed back on our 10 hour journey back to Michigan!
