Before I begin, I'm sorry if this was already discussed. I tried searching for it here, and nothing. My buddy sent me this, I know its from 2011, so it's old. Apparently, Ares was supposed to make a WWII line, and decently sized one as well. m1pencil.wordpress.com/2011/07/10/ares-classic-line-new-ww2-airsoft-guns/To me, the most interesting thing here is the Mosin Nagant line, especially the one with the proper scope. Note it says they are spring powered. Perhaps they were making them compatible with other airsoft sniper rifles and their upgrade parts. They seem to have a M1 Carbine as well, but there wasn't any other info boxes (like the Mosin Nagants did). So, there is no idea on what they were going to power it with. Unfortunately, this was from 2011 so I think these might have been canned or taking a really long time to release them. Thoughts?

It was cancelled I believe because they didn't make much off of their m3, which is their own fault mind you. If you don't know, it was a battery operated with the battery placed in the magazine requiring a battery for each magazine. I don't know why they did it like that but it screwed them and us over as a result.

Holy crap, really? Battery in each mag? Damn, one can imagine what they would have done for the M1 Carbine (if it was an AEG).
Alright, thanks for the info! Sorry to bring up an old and dismissed topic.

The poster showing their plans were very encouraging but that was 2011 and to my knowlege nothing further came of any of their pending products. Progress on such things run annoyingly slow so lets hope they are still in a pipeline somewhere. the Ares Grease Gun was a more authentic replica then the ICS but the battery in the mag was a deal breaker for a lot of potential buyers.

It was very unreliable besides the battery in the magazine. A friend of mine bought one, it jammed often, and the battery connection from the magazine a lot of times would cause the gun to stop firing, and the magazine would have to be adjusted. Also, the battery would die extremely quickly, and the power and rate of fire were very low. Probably because of both the battery being in the magazine and it's blowback feature. He went through three fully charged batteries after only a couple hours of fighting at an event a couple years ago. Eventually, after he fielded it only one time, it completely crapped out. Unfortunately he never went to another WWII airsoft game with the rest of my friends after that =/
