The question has been on my mind.A lot of tropical stuff was used in the European front, particularly later in the war.I was wondering if the same applied to the tropical A-frames.Hessen is sold out of regular A-frames so I was hoping using a tropical frame won't be out of the ordinary.
Thank you

Actually, A Frames weren't really being used in general during the late war period. Even during early-mid war you still don't see as many soldiers with a frames as you do without. I don't plan on getting a A frame because I don't need one. But if you really really like a frames, I guess the tropical one is ok.

Nothing yet so far.I'm getting a job this summer so much more is on the way in the future.I plan on getting the zelt first because they're so cool but also because the job I applied is a bit of a bicycle journey.A zelt would be handy if I get caught in the rain :)Here is what I'll be getting in this order.
1.Zeltbahn (splinter) with 2 greatcoat straps 2.M40 tunic 3.Trousers 4.Belt (leather) with buckle 5.MP40 pouch 6.Y-strap 7.Boots (haven't decided on Jackboot or ankle boots) 8.Canteen 9.Mess kit 10.Helmet 11.M43 cap

And I suggest jackboot because low boots are over represented in my opinion.

I wish I got jackboots instead of low boots. I'll probably get some underwood stuff.

I do suggest that you put money into footwear. Boots can make or break your impression. There are multiple civil war footwear sites that sell good WWII German jackboots.

I use East German Jackboots, not entirely correct but they work pretty nicely

You could resolve your boots to hobnails

You can still resole to leather soles and install hobnails if needs be

I think after I finish the Heer impression I will start on either a U.S. infantryman or Finnish.I think the U.S. would be easy to do and there are plenty of guns for the impression.

I was thinking of doing Finnish, but I decided I was going to do FJ instead.

Yeah since Hiki is overseas its a bit more pricy shipping wise.At The Front has a good U.S. infantry package and might save up just to get that later.First things first though, must complete the Wehrmacht gear/uniforms.I'm figuring out what my next gun would be for the US impression.I'm crossed between the Garand or the Grease Gun.Good luck on your FJ impression!

Garand sounds good.Gives me an opportunity to get used to an airsoft rifle and the gas operation.I don't know much about GI gear but will learn as I go along.

I forgot all about IMA.I will look up their stuff. The only thing I don't like about their stuff is that their German WW2 tunics don't look quite right to me

I have had good success with IMA. Some of their stuff is excellent, some of it is pretty bad. You need to do your research and have an idea of what you're buying. I got a very nice splinter helmet cover from them, as well as a Zeltbahn, both at very competitive prices compared to the Chinese vendors, and at least as good of quality-- minus the one month (or more) wait. Just the other day I got a couple of their belt buckles, decent enough repros that are well worth the $11.00 plus shipping (always pays to make a bigger order to get a better shipping rate). Also will shortly be getting one of their XL size 70 shell M35 helmets-- will report back on that when I get the chance. On the other had, some of their stuff is awful-- I took a flyer at two bucks on their "BeVo Breast Eagle-- Wehrmacht Officer" and might arguably have been better off flushing two dollar bills down the toilet, at least I would have had something interesting to watch for a couple minutes. Still, all in all I've had positive experiences with them.

I got a M18 cut-out helmet from them. The shells nice but needs a new liner IMO.They do have some nice stuff and antique guns!
