In all honesty, if everything is high grade parts, it should take upgrades easily and you won't have to worry about crappy parts breaking under stress. It should be easy to drop a M130 spring, high torque motor, paired good 9.6v or a 7.4v LiPo, and of course a tightbore (if it doesn't have one already), and you will be set. You shouldn't have to worry about the gears destroying themselves or the gearbox cracking from a high quality gun like this.

The Combat Sports Supply pre order has been there for well over two years i believe actually haha. I think the initial preorder price was between 360-400 or so so if somebody kept the order, they definitely saved some money.

At the anticipated price point I shouldn't need to have to consider the added cost of upgrades. Tough enough considering the considerable cost of spare clips (once available). This offering (given its weight, length and what it depicts) should shoot high 300s right outta the box. Without significant upsides to offset those downides we will continue to see a ridiculously high percentage of Thimpsons on the field (and why wouldn't we?). Hopefully the US releases will have significant bite.
The ICS certainly does.

Just recieved my M1 from Combat Sport Supply, took a while buy it's here now. Stock is excellent and the weight and feel are top notch. I own 2 other airsoft guns an Bravo Winchester Gas power rifle, and a G&G M4. The G&G has worked for me thru 2 years of play with out any problems. Hope the Garand holds up as well. Now I just need to find a WWII group here in the Idaho wilderness. Any info will be welcome.

I am coincidently flying to Boise Thursday night coming back on Saturday. i would really like to check this rifle out in person. I gave up on a pre order but if they are on the ground and as good as I hope they are and if they have available and reasonably priced spare clips I am all over it.
In the meantime post some pictures and a performance review if you can as lots of people here have long awaited first hand experience with this rediculously long awaited offering. I see on the website that the store is in/ near Boise and apparently some are in stock?

Ver7 gearbox? Isn't G&G using their proprietary M14 gearbox for this? I'm pretty sure thats another mess up by the webmaster. I highly doubt G&G would revert to TM spec after their stuff has been proven.

Evikes pictures are clearly the ICS NOT the GnG. Interesting that they would do that? incidently are there spare clips available yet?

I knew something was fishy about those pictures....
Thats the Evike webmaster for you, though... They are always doing crap like this. Reusing pictures from completely different products, posting bad and just plain incorrect information, etc etc.

In looking closer I think they are in fact pictures of the GnG. The trades would certainly indicate that. The reason I thought they were the ICS is the unsightly gap in the gas assembly, the oversized sling hardware and the same bulbous buttplate as the ICS. I thought for sure GnG would remedy that (and perhaps they have). I will reserve judgement until I have been able to see and handle one in person which hopefully I will be able to do this weekend.

Let's hope the dimensions are better. For me, they look better then the ICS but I haven't been around m1's that much at all haha

For a almost 500 dollar gun, this one better not set on fire like my ICS did...

Wow your ICS shorted out? yikes! Did it get sorted out and fixed?
I guess I have been blessed as I got one of the very first ICS Garands and have literally put 10,000 plus rounds through it. Early on it failed to feed the first shot in each mag (for some reason) but that went away after about eight magazines. No problems whatsoever since. As mentioned elsewhere it never would load more than 32 or the supposed 42 round capacity but I was fine with that.
I am somewhat concerned about the listed 20 round capacity in the GnG although if spare mags are reasonably easy to reload and affordable it will actually add to gameplay. I have always been a fan of the need for frequent reloading and advocate for a three to one capacity as a goal. a Garand should therefore feed 24 rounds per clip to be ideal. Three round semi auto bursts is how I play so essentially eight groupings. Between reloads.

Yeah my friends with ICS didn't have a problem that I know of. That sucks. Only airsoft thing I saw catch on fire was a SAW box mag
