Hi there! Guess who's back? Any how, I have a repro water bottle and cover (U.S. Infantry) and yesterday I ordered a repro M1 helmet off Ebay. The question is, should I do regular U.S. uniform? Airborne uniform? Or perhaps US Marine Corps?
Please leave suggestions, thanks!

If you do Marine, there will be no Japanese to fight, and renders such an impression rather useless, at least for WWII games. For Airborne, you will have no problem finding a group, but there are too many people doing airborne (myself included.) By doing a generic infantry impression, you allow yourself to attend most if not all events we run. I may sound a bit hypocritical for saying this as my primary impression is airborne (101st no less) but I assure you after I acquire the funds to build a Garand AEG, my next goal will be to get leg infantry gear. I would recommend this. M1 helmet M37 or M41 wool shirt M41 Jacket M37 or M41 pants M1923 cartridge belt M1928 haversack Canteen and cover E-tool and cover Garand rifle (ICS, G&G, or custom) M1938 Gaiters/leggings Roughout boots (really any low leather shoe will do) Mud, stubble, and a 1000 yard stare! Notes: ICS/G&G mags don't fit in the cartridge belt. If you go that route, you'd have to get bandoliers for your mags If you live in an area that wearing wools would cause immediate incineration, get HBT pants and one of ATF's cotton "flannel" shirts. Hope this helps!

I second standard leg infantry. I had ideas of Airborne being my main US impression, but the standard riflemen uniforms and gear really started to grow on me.....after I started to watch COMBAT!....

I am going to contribute my support to the standard generic Infantry soldier but its your money and your fantasy. Do what YOU want to represent!

I'm gonna throw my input out there and say straight leg infantry is the way to go. It's more diverse, as the infantry made up the bulk of the fighting forces, while the airborne made up only a tiny portion. Plus, with modifications, the basic uniform can be used for just about anything. With wools, you can do almost all of the MTO and ETO, even transitioning into ABN eventually, and once you get HBTs, you can do PTO events with practically the same gear.

I'd say Standard Infantry would be best, Airborne is done by alot of people, I do it because my grandfather and great Uncle were airborne. But really whatever interests you most I'd say go for it, its always good to have more impressions being done.
