My trip through the NE haa ample days off for me to visit numerous locations I have always wanted to see. Today I drove to the US Army Military Academy at West Point and spent several hours at the museum. When you pull up you are greeted by a WW2 Sherman M4 E8 with markings indicating it is Creighton Abrams final tank he commanded in the War and the vehicle he road into Bastogne. highly unlikely it's the actual vehicle but impressive none the less. The museum walks you through the history of warfare with special focus on US involved conflics. wonderful, wonderful displays as you might imagine.
At museums I always find mistakes or misrepresentations and while there no doubt are some I didn't identify any. Definitely a worthwhile place to visit and its free! Walking around the campus gives me goosebumps in much the way I felt at Gettysburg and Normandy.

Ah, dammit, completely forgot to post these images from 9 days ago. My apologies:
here are a few pictures from my visit to the Museum at West Point. Then Colonel Abrhams M4EA8 Serman tank. he had several shot out from under him. His was the first tank into Bastogne duringPattons relief effort. Lots of great and informative displays of weaponry. This one being a collection of assorted types of diabolical Civil War artillery ammo. All periods of US Warfare were depicted with WW2 obviously covered. I was on a luxury car tour for 2 1/2 months and had some very nice vehicles to drive. Though not as fun as the BMW 650 Convertible the MB SL550 was a fun road car! 2nd Bat
