Hello,
I'm looking for someone to make a Mosin Nagant spring for me. I have both donor rifles and ready to ship them out. The donor rifles are the Red Fire Mosin Nagant "sniper variant" and a Echo1 M28 that I would like to be spliced together.
The M28 is a slightly off spec VSR clone, but with a removable magazine well and L96 style mags (where the mags have the mag release on them and they spring pop out).
This would need to be a standard springer mod, placing the M28 internals into the Mosin Nagant stock and hardware.
I'd prefer it to be able to accept the scope mount and repro scope from the Redfire Mosin, but if not going to work or it is way too hard to make it work, then don't worry about it.
I'd like to get some ideas on pricing and discuss on how this will work out (timing, payments, etc etc).
Thank you.

I've built a Mosin using the redfire as a base, but used a real wood Mosin stock. Took a very long time to carve out the stock. Labor wise, you possibly are looking at $400 in labor, but that depends on the person and how detailed the finished product is

$400 to take out the gas internals and replace them with a M28's internals and when I'm supplying both guns? That seems excessive.

Have you seen these?
Mosin Nagant M91/30 Stock, G-VG w/ Brass Handguard -Minor Cosmetic Dings - $54.00 (Buy Milsurp) This grade includes handguard and barrel bands as well as all other metal parts. Handguard has Brass ends These are much better than the USED stocks, basically these are the VG-EXC grade but have minor dings, scratches or other cosmetic defect. gun-deals.com
The airsoft guts would include trigger, bolt, barrel, etc.
I don't want to minimize painstaking labor others have done, but there is a simple method used to fix broken (or miscarved) stocks that don't fit actions and/or barrels in real guns:
A Dremmel makes the space bigger, wood filler (elmer's glue and sawdust) and/or casting epoxy makes the space smaller, a release agent (vasaline) helps get the internals out of the newly-cast bed, and carbon paper to check for high spots. What else would you need? Sights and a flash suppressor, what else?
I'll take a look at the M-N that is supposed to arive this week, compare it to photos of actual artifacts, and see what we can do to make one. If I have to rebuild my long-gun anyway... might as well make it look like a WW2 sniper.
