Here's a clip of a battle scene from the new Danish film "9 April".It looks real good and realistic.The Danes had some unique looking equipment as well and should be a treat to watch when it becomes available to us Here's the trailer

Interesting. Krag rifles and Madsen LMG's. The helmet design is interesting. Looks like it would be good for deflecting shrapnel from overhead.

I like the helmets too.I'm not too familiar with the Danish kit so this is all new to me.Glad to see a different WW2 movie for a change too.You can also get the movie on DVD in Amazon UK if you have region free players.

The battle scenes look reasonable convincing although rifle ammunition would typically punch right through most of the cover they were behind. Sparks on a wooden barrel, hmmmm but overall very well done. One pet leave of mine in all period pieces is how sparkling clean vintage cars and vehicles are. This is consistently true in virtually all movies.
