My father served with SHAEF throughout the war and left me a couple dozen fabulous tactical maps of key areas where extensive combat took place in the European Theater including the Normandy beach areas, and drop zones. In addition I have tactical maps from Holland and nearly all of the map sheets from the Ardennes forest. (Battle of the Bulge). What I am selling are reprographic copies of my originals. These maps are mostly 1:50:000 which was the norm for maps issued down to the battalion and company level. These maps show incredible detail with treelines, streams, individual buildings and contours present in the 40s. My originals are dated 1943 and 1944. These were War Department classified maps created from aerial recon and Michelin road maps.
They would be suitable for framing or folded in your kit and serving as props. I love them as study resources supporting my reading and historical research. They are roughly 2 x 3 feet when unfolded. The price is $18.50 each plus 2.80 for shipping.
Map titles include: St Marie Du Mont, Carentan, St Mere Eglise, Bastogne, Malmedy and Vielsalm which features St Vith. Many, many, more obscure locations. The edges of some of these are slightly bruised or folded but are free of stains or tears.
I will post pictures for greater clarity. You can choose which map or maps you'd like and the $2.80 covers shipping up to five maps.

The Ardennes map sheet captions are: Bastogne, Malmedy, Vielsalm, Ciney (the extreme end of the German thrust). Wellin, Durbuy, Awaille, Tintingny, Flourenville, Huy, and Paliseul. I typically ship them folded as they would have been when issued (with the map heading centered on top) On large batches I would ship rolled in a tube (at the added cost of the tube.). The entire batch of Buldge maps (all 11). Would be $110.00 shipped in the US.

In addition to the tactical maps dad had period Michelin Tire road maps dated 1938 which the military widely copied and distributed at the Regimental, Divisional and Corp level. My favorite features the entire Cotentin Penninsula and a large portion of France which clearly shows logical choke points and key road junctions during the Breakout and battle for France leading up to the liberation of Paris which my father remembers as a deleriously, joyous, day.

Thanks Drac. I know you have had a lot on your plate lately. Indeed the camo covered German helmet is one of your creations. These pictures should accurately tell the story about what you'd be getting and hopefully help to depict why I have truly enjoyed these incredible props. I have been and remain an avid table top wargamer and I think it was these maps, my fathers stories and my readings that inspired that hobby.
I know the caption says "not for resale" but of course that was a 1944 War Department admonition. Any classified benefit to these documents have long since passed! For planning and briefing purposes maps typically were covered in a light "onion skin" paper or clear acetate that could be drawn on with grease pencils or markers depicting unit locations, target reference points, objectives, line of departure, unit boundaries, line of movement etc without marking up the maps. Alighnment "+"s were placed at appropriate grid coordinates to assure the skin covering properly aligned. In a headquarters such a set up makes for an impressive display.
Copies of these very maps are on display in numerous museums a fact of which I am very proud and I know my father would have liked.

Nice getting some of these sold. Still plenty of them done up and ready to ship out. For those folks who purchased them, thank you! Your maps will go out first thing Saturday morning when I get home. In answer to several PMs I will list the Holland map sheet titles when I get home. All the key objectives are represented.

I have made additional copies and have some once again on hand. I sell these on eBay to private buyers, museums and historians and while I consider my originals as priceless these copies often bid up to far far more than I am selling them for here on WW2 Airsoft!
