Hello all, Would like to start up a WarCo impression on the US side of things. Would love to find a portable typewriter and actually write at events. Where can I start in terms of putting an impression together?
Having a hard time even finding a 'starting' kit list or pictures to start putting together. Not a first timer, have a 60% 82nd kit so far.

War correspondents dressed very much like the troops they covering but without web gear or weapons and typically a rainbow shapped shoulder patch identifying them as a WAR COORESPONDENT. When in Garrison they would typically be in a class A uniform. Wools in Europe and Khakis in the Pacific. In the field a field jacket and HBTs or wools, probably with leggings and a field cap, wool cap, overseas cap or helmet depending on the percieved need. The writer / cameraman might have a pistol belt with canteen and first aid pouch.

Thanks, 2ndBat.
I've done a ton of research over the weekend.
Already have a 60% 82nd ABN kit and I think I might even have most of what I need already.
So, starting from the top, I'll list out my basic ideal - feel free to pick it apart. M1 helmet - no net, no markings.
Summer M41 Jacket OR M1941 jacket w/ arm 'C' brassard. 'War Correspondent' tab sewn to left breast.
White T-Shirt or wool long-sleeve.
Wool trousers.
Footwear - not completely sure yet. I have a pair of jump boots for my 82nd kit and will purchase something that fits the kit if I need to.
Am also thinking of a simple pistol belt / canteen and a musette bag with a shoulder strap.
I think that's all I'd need. Very welcome to let me know differently.
I'm most excited to get the paperwork, rations, personal effects and 'press' materials together.

That absolutely would fit the bill. For more of a "non attack" sort of slovenly "UN military" look I'd where the trousers down or rolled up at the ankles rather than bloused. The mussette bag carried as a pouch rather than a pack is a great idea.
