I did some stripping of the chrome frame today. Nasty process but the results are good; Using Sulfuric acid (Battery Acid) diluted down in a 5 gallon bucket and a large battery charger capable of supplying 60+ amps at 12 volts. I cleaned the frame very well and attached it to a titanium wire. Thick aluminum wire is better suited for this as it carries the amperage better without the heat but I didn't have any laying around. You can see it has removed some of the chrome and is now stripping the copper undercoat.
