Hello Everyone,
I am planning my next event. It will be "Bastogne, Battle in the Ardennes.
The date I'm shooting for is January 14th & 15th. This happens to be Martin Luther King weekend. I feel this is a good weekend as most have Monday 1/16/17 off and schools are closed.
The location is yet to be determined.
I am toying with Ground Zero in Wolcott, CT again or Albany Paintball in Nassau NY. Both fields offer a lot and I'm just not sure which one to use.
I would like to open up this thread to all ideas and discussions about field preference, battle scenarios and anything else that comes to mind.
I would like to finalize event arrangements by Nov 1st.
Cheers,
Migs

I will save the date, and try to get some of my ailing gear up to speed by then.
Also been doing some recruiting, may be able to get some new blood. Will advise.

If it's in CT, I can come. I've been itching to come to these for years now.

Likely chance I can't make this one, but I will not be calling it quits yet!

Too far in advance for me to know for sure yet, but I'll definitely try my best to make it! If you end up going with the Wolcott, CT venue, I will probably be able to show up early to help set up props and stuff.

I've been dying to get back into the action, if it's at Wolcott I'm there. Hopefully the B.A.R. will be operational. That's far in the future I'm sure it will

Im going to Gap is the following week so not sure if I can do both. If you end up doing it at APE I'd have a better chance of making it.

Hi, I have yet to go to an event, live in Philadelphia, and currently have no access to a car. I've picked up a ICS M1 Garand and a King Arms Thompson, I just bought an M1 helmet as well. Is there anyway to somehow get a ride to this event if possible and if there are any ground rules or recommendations?
Sorry if I seem forward about all this.

Can't speak for anyone, but I do know that we do have some members who travel from a little south of your area to up here where the event will take place. perhaps if one of them see this post, they'll work something out with you. As for your weapons and so forth, they're fine, but do you have a U.S. uniform impression as well?

Anyone who needs a US impression just let me know. If you're willing to pay shipping from the west coast (and back) I'll give you free rental for the event. (Everything but footgear). Shirt, pants, leggings, web gear, jacket, helmet, jeep cap and wool scarf. Just let me know your sizes.

Actually, I was wondering where you guys get your clothes and gear from? I'm trying to go for the 442nd Regimental combat team being of the asian variety.

There are a lot of sites you can choose from. One of the better ones (but a bit expensive) is www.atthefront.comThere is also a event in PA in January at Fort Indiantown PA which goes by Fort Indiantown GAP. This is a WW2 reenactment event that is open to the public on that Saturday. They have a great selection of vendors there. Great place to outfit your entire impression.

Four of my wife's uncles and her father were in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Two months ago we visited the GO FOR BROKE memorial in Los Angeles and found three of their names etched into it. Very moving experience. They were all 2nd or 3rd generation Americans UNCONSTITUTIONALLY interned in concentration camps because of their race who volunteered to serve and placed in an all Japanese unit (lead by white officers). This unit went on to become the most highly decorated unit of its size in history. For the purposes of THIS event make note of the fact that the 442nd had no role in the Ardennes Campaign.

Come as any unit you like, active in the Ardennes or not, "race-appropriate" or not, but just come! WWII Airsoft is as non-discriminatory as it gets. I was at an event once fighting alongside a black SS-Mann. One of our region's most active fighting men is a woman. It's all good.

I will be attending this event as well. If anyone needs any loaner uniforms or webgear, let me know sizes and I can bring them along too.
Taboggan, I'm also going to be attending GAP in PA as well. I'll be with the OSS unit there. If you'd like, I could always meet up with you sometime Saturday to help you with sifting through the vendors for deals. Sometimes vendors in person will give you a break on stuff, especially if you buy a bunch of stuff together.

I will be announcing the event details in the next week or two.
Glad to see so many already looking forward to this one.
Mark and Nate,
I'll be reaching out to you both for thoughts, ideas and leadership roles.

I can help from afar if gear is needed. I will happily lend any supportive items that you think you might need. Pay shipping and promise to ship it back and it's yours to use. Preferably one point of contact on this.

Just a quick question, is the date a solid time? I would be able to go the week before the 14th-15th (so the 7th and 8th), it's totally fine if not, I know 1 guy wouldn't make a difference of much I was only curious.

It's not in stone yet as I have to verify date with the field. However, I think a holiday weekend is easier for some that are traveling far distances. I will keep in mind your request as I finalize things with the field owners.

I much prefer MLK weekend, or anything mid-month. I got big nerd conventions first and last weekends of Jan.
