I stumbled on this last night on YouTube. A Russian TV series called "The Dawns Here are Quiet." The storyline is there's a road junction and small village behind the lines defended by two AA guns. In charge is a sergeant who was badly wounded in the Winter War and isn't fit for frontline service. His gun crews tend to get bored, get drunk and get involved with the local women so he asks his CO for teetotalers who won't fool around. He gets assigned a half-platoon of women AA gunners. It sounds like the set up for a sit-com, and there are some comedic elements, but overall it's fairly serious. Good costuming and sets. Russian with English subtitles. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v8v1GUjwLc&t=2024s

Well, that got pretty heavy. But then it's Russian. Some pretty good firefight scenes in a northern forest when the sergeant takes out a patrol thinking there's two German saboteurs and it's actually 16. Costuming was interesting. The Germans were parachuted in. They had SS insignia, fallschirmjaeger smocks, the side lacing parachutist boots (looked brand new), but the standard coal scuttle helmet instead of the parachutist helmet.

Hmmmm? Skorzeny types rather than regular FJ's.
