Sorry for the long wait, I decided to give my Arisaka to a friend (warbirdguy1 on here) to review for himself and since he doesn't come on the forum he wanted me to post his review which I am just now putting on here, sorry again for the wait
In terms of FPS, neither him nor I have access to a chrono so we tried the soda can test, we were able to shoot through both sides and the center bottom, we did not try the sides of the bottom or the top so the fps is likely in the upper 300's, maybe lower 400's. Here are the pictures he took comparing the S&T to his real Type 38

The S&T Type 38 Arisaka Review
Us WW2 airsofters have been waiting to see affordable Japanese WW2 era airsoft replicas for years. I remember when I started the predecessor to Florida Combat Simulations in 2011 we considered the Pacific Theater to be the best matching for the Florida environment. Our biggest limiting factor was the lack of Japanese WW2 airsoft offerings. As of this year we got our break from S&T. The same company announced they are in the works of a Type 96 machine gun too!
1. Authenticity
I am quite familiar with the Arisaka family of rifles. I have owned dozens and know them inside out. All the proportions are extremely close. This Type 38 can even take real bayonets.
The chamber stretched a tad to accomidate an airsoft cylinder. Underneath the rifle is the detachable magazine but it is descrete. The magazine baseplate release is cast into the trigger guad. Cleaning rod is a dummy. My only major complaint is the mishaped safety knob.
The wood furniture although mostly accurate in shape easily scratches. The finish is sprayed on like a paint. I advise sanding and staining the correct color.
2. Internals (limited)
I have yet to take this example apart. From what I can tell the cylinder is about the size of a VSR-10. The dust cover does a fine job masking the cartoonishly large bolt. Cylinder head/nozzle is brass. Hop up nub is suspected to be a ball bearing pushed down by a set screw. Trigger sear appears to be of VSR-10 pattern.
3. Shooting
I fired one hundred .30 gram AirsoftGI BBs today. The first 30-50 were all over the place and I had to chase the hop up. As the bucking broke in it became more consistent. It shoots like any out of the box Chinese built gun. It can effectively hit a man sized target at 80 feet and likely further. I am sure with some limited teflon tape work you can improve the consistency. The inner barrel runs almost the full length of the outer barrel till 1 inch before the muzzle.
Cycling and feeding is no problem untill the last BB. When the bolt is retracted the last BB is pulled out of the magazine and falls into a gap behind the magazine well. It takes a few good shakes to free the BB
4. Final thoughts and notes.
Overall this is a worthy example that met my hopes for a S&T. It is certainly worth the money.
