I think I found it up for pre-order in Japan under the serial STSPG17FW.
It's for sale for €150 more or less, and this is what I get from google translate when looking at the website's description:
※ For pre-ordered items
· Reservation sales will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. When arrival number becomes extremely small due to production convenience etc., selling to all people may not be possible. Please note. · The price will be a price. Please note that prices may change in the future. · Since it will be overseas products, release may be delayed. Please note. · Specifications may change due to production circumstances. · It is not subject to replacement for fine scratches at the time of production, parting line of mold, paint unevenness, which is not a category of initial failure. Please acknowledge that it is possible for all products.
Please make a reservation only if you can acknowledge the above.
Case-less specification Kar 98k air cocking gun comes out of S & T!
● Manufacturer: S & T ● Number of bullets: 24 ● Fake Wood ● Variable HOP UP specification
The fact that it's 24 rounds without shells would suggest it's what we are talking about. I cannot, however, find anything other than pre-orders in Japan using that serial number/code.

sounds like it is drawing ever closer to Reality. I would think with a faux wood stock it should price somewhat in sync with a bolt action VSR which even if it was somewhat more would be fabulous. Please shoot somewhere north of 385 with .20 gram right out of the box and have decent hopup! Better still full compatibility for upgrades.
24 rounds is longer than most bolty rifleman survive in our battles so that will work

The lowest price I found for it was 19500 yen, with standard being around 23000 yen. I think it would be reasonable to expect it on Evike for $180-225, about in line with the 1903. Spare magazines were also up for preorder for 1650 yen ($14-ish) a pop.

I believe the guy who works with the company is on my facebook WWII Airsoft group talking about it, said in SE Asia it will be priced ~$130, and then probably more in the states. The first batch has plastic stocks.

With the faux wood stock it should come in under the S&T Springfisld (I would think). If it ultimately comes in at $150. Or so that would answer many, many prayers.

Well We Have our first Listing for the K98s. I just bought 4, shipping was a bit of a pain, but I hope to give some pictures soon. You can buy yours here! www.switairsoft.com/product-page/s-t-full-metal-kar98k-spring-powered-bolt-action-rifleThey are also working of Modified upgraded guns That I am told should retail for around $400 from them. It looks like they are extensively upgrading them from what i see in their work shop. What I can tell you is the guns are not compatible with any existing upgrade parts. Plastic stocks, Wood may come later. Gun features a rear sight rail for a zf-41. The SWIT guys upgrades so far look like Air seal work, Pistons springs, guides, Barrels and hop-ups,and Filling the stock with rubber to give more heft and durability. That is what i have seen them do so far, but only time will tell. I recommend you contact them If you want one of they guns they have.

I think I saw they changed the butt stock plate or whatever so it would hold better on your shoulder.

This is a pretty exciting news to come back to. I'm still pretty iffy on the proprietary "VSR-like" system, but decently priced main German rifle is fantastic.
Alternatively though, if S&T is making all these systems proprietary, maybe they are standardized, I think we have a better chance at seeing after market upgrades.

I wonder if the 390 FPS quoted is realistic or some .12 gram silliness. If it shoots .25 gram at 330 or so its skirmishable with a 25 round magazines. Kudos for someone finally doing this. Looking forward to first hand reviews. I am curious if the magazine will be the same as their Springfield 1903?

S&T - I am a little bit surprized to go for proprietary parts. In AEG what they did was to come closer to standard, by deploying V2 parts in modified Ares builds. Also - they usually make things pretty sturdy. Might support moderate upgrades without much issues. Let’s see what it actually brings in.

Looking at the magazine I would say it looks like a clone of the Tanaka Kar 98k AIR. Ever since Tanaka released it I was hoping some manufacturer would clone it, so I guess my prayers were answered!

very informative video. I am excited about this offering. 394 FPS with what appears to be minimal cocking effort and 24 rounds means its absolutely skirmishable. I have found that a light sanding and refinish of plastic stocks like on the cheap carbines eliminate the seam and looks very good.

I will be anxious to see reviews from our members. It absolutely appears to be a clone of the Air Tanaka which I had long hoped someone would do.
I will certainly buy one. (Or more)
