We haven't really run a WW2 game in a while in Florida however with the S&T Type 38 out and the Type 96 hopefully coming out(if it stops getting delayed) me and the group head of our airsoft group are planning to do a Pacific themed event hopefully within 4-5 months. Anyways, this thread is to stir up interest from forum members who might not otherwise be a part of our facebook group ( www.facebook.com/groups/150397675038118/ . It goes probably without saying but we'll need numbers for the IJA but if you are willing to join we'll take all the US impressions we can get as well.
The field will be the DV8 airsoft field at Lithia Florida, we have a good relationship with the owner so he lets us use it without much issue. Entry fee will pry be 25-30's and as of now we don't exactly have our uniform requirments put together but I will see about aqcuiring extra ammo belts and leg wraps for Japanese impressions. We should be able to camp out the night before and we'd *like* to have a small skirmish at night to simulate the iconic Japanese night raids but we don't if that will viable as it looks like our numbers will likely be somewhere between 3-5 Japanese and 5-7 or so US troops and not everybody shows up the night before. The actual game day will likely be several games with specific objectives and time limits, this is how we have run most of our events in the past and while a non-stop game would be nice, that probably won't happen. Also, for the Japanese, I am working on getting a hold of some Japanese airsoft safe Type 30 bayonets so we should be able to get a nice banzai charge in during the game.
I will likely update this thread as more information is put together but feel free to join the facebook group and/or post questions/suggestions here.
Also I put together a google doc of what you would need for a basic Japanese kit, for the hat, shirt, pants and rifle you'd only need 330 not including shipping so it's a fairly cheap impression but let me know if you're doing that so I know to buy extra ammo belt sets and leg wraps as I would really like to get the at least iconic IJA look for everybody doing IJA. Unfortunetly footwear I'll have to be more leniant on as it's harder to find/incredibly expensive for some.
