No rain today at last, so I had a few shots with 0.25`s in the back garden. After adjusting the hop, it shoots straight as a die out of the box, lovely rifle.

I had a PM asking me about the location of the hop up. Since this rifle frequently doesn't come with a manual it's a reasonable question. The hop up is cleverly hidden under the rear site. You just flip up the gradient ladder and directly below it is a horizontal slide.

I bought the SWIT S&T Kar98 with their upgrade package (TNT custom internals including a darker color external chamber, and they filled in the stock with resin for a fuller feel). It shoots fantastic and consistent, I highly recommend any of S&T’s rifles bought from SWIT with the upgrade kit.
If anyone finds a site selling the wood stock alone for the kar98, please let me know

That is awesome that they are offering a real wood version and at a really good price. I continue to put rounds through mine with no issues whatsoever.

This seems to be out for almost a year now - but didn't look for it until now - disassembly video. It is nice how the guy is saying this is not difficult after he had to remove every last bit off to access the cylinder. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIpu3b_-UucI tested mine 2 weeks ago (without initial cleaning - who does that?) and the initial range was 3-5 m. so - after my initial disappointment and couple of mags after - it increased well beyond 40 m with really good accuracy out of the box. I decided this is a keeper (next to real Tanaka springer).

Well - thanks for sharing! I am not sure this will be superior to the SW but point 6 makes a significant difference: Long side mount with adequate looking ZF39 scope. It will be available separately. Something tells me I'll do some holes in my SW 98K ufcairsoft.jp/shopdetail/000000011417/ct66/page1/order/

I took the take off stock and hardware (since I modified a RS wood stock) and made a pretty decent prop gun. It cocks and exposes a fake round. It completely disassembles . I intend eventually to use the bits to make a VSR conversion. Nice to get another Mauser for not much more than a VSR rifle but at $179.00 including shipping for the excellent S&T a lot of effort with minimal savings.
Once done I'll be able to arm a squad of Germans. I have my homemade MG42. A home made G43, 2 AGM Mp40,s a mystery brand STG44, an S&T Mad 98, 2 (soon to be 3) homemade Kar98s and a CZ24 carbine (homemade) and GBB Browning hipower. I could arm extra troops with the cheap carbine which are still the best value in WW2 airsoft . The U.S. m1 was a popular field pickup weapon for German troops.

So - I manage to get my hand on the new S&T ZF39 repro with Long side mount - www.smartteamhk.com/en/s-t-zf39-type-scope-side-mount-set-for-kar98k-stspg18.html . First impression is decent scope (optic is quite clean, fair amount of magnification (closer to 4x than any other Chinese 4x scopes) Actually the scope is quite close to some post war 4x scope I acquired (Jena etc.) The mount is a Long side rail mount, made from pot metal (only screws are ferrous). Overall nothing that can fool you as a war period scope but close enough for an authentic look - but overall price in the range of 190 EU (not cheap since the SW 24 is 130 EU), still half the price of a ZF39+mount repro combo. I am waiting for a new SW-24 to test and eventually drill and mount. If successful - I'll take some pictures.

Please do. I am sure that a lot of people buying these Kar 98s will be interested in a scope. I hope you continue to be pleased with it and look forward to a further report and pictures.

So - I have my working prototype ready for a mount for ZF39 from S&T on the plastic stock on the Snow Wolf Kar98K - I just need some support with uploading the pictures. This one require minimal modifications to the stock. I am also thinking to one for the wood stock version (if I'll get a wood stock version) and require minimal filing on the receiver.
