If it wasn’t for air superiority? There was a good chance the Normandy invasion would have failed.

I cant think of a successful amphibious operation witbout air superiority. Oh wait...Guadalcanal but that was a touch and go proposition and probably would rank as air neutrality. This thread has taken a decided detour from boobytraps! I think Im the main culprit.

Enimine Pre-Order Update #8 Dear customers, We keep wanting to move on despite many difficulties and long waits, which were caused by failed cooperation projects. Anyway, we never lost courage! Yesterday we received the PCB samples that are now under testing. If they are suitable we'll give our supplier the green light for production. As you already know, the plastic components molds are ready. The metal components have been modified for a better trajectory of bullets and tests show that this goal has been achieved. Together with our engineer, we have improved the firmware and simplified the controller's key combination and the radar's sensitivity selection. We can't wait to release Enimine and make you finally happy to have it! It's a challenge... without risk! Always remind that you can ask us for a refund until the first day of shipping. On Friday, pre-orders will be open again on our website to get the chance of special discounts. Lastly, check out the video on our social pages! It shows the bullets reach the chest camera! And a new video by our friend Tymothy Selby testing Enimine is coming! Best, Enimine Team This is the video they mentioned. www.facebook.com/enimine.airsoft/videos/2085560761739635/

Just got an update on these. They were planning on starting shipments in April, but of course everything is further delayed.

While on the subject of mines and while sitting home bored I decided to pull out some of my old step on mines to try them out. The way they work is interestinv. A CO2 cartridge is placed inside with its cap aligned with a piercing needle activated by the pressure of a wayward step. Along with the CO2 cartridge the kind is half filled with Talc powder Once pierced the pressure fills a section of black tubing which fills and then quickly bursts creating a loud Audible pop and spewing a jet of Talc powder everywhere. It is actually pretty cool. I have 20 of them! They are about 6x6x6 in OR plastic. I found in actual use the lid was real hard to unscrew after long term deployment and I had to use an automotive oil filter remover. I have used them at but events typically as bootstraps rather than defensive mines. I also have 4 spring powered Claymore mines which spew BUs as well as Talc powered hurling several hundred BY a directionally about 25 feet. There is no report or flash but they are reusable and easy to set up and look accurate. Claymore s were Korean War/ Vietnam War items.

Sounds like the M80TRs. Good mines; I have 13 of them. Also a few Mad Bull Powdershots (basically a flattened airsoft M203 shell that makes a makes a pop and puffs powder if you load it) and some homebuilt "toe poppers" the Eastwind guys made out of PVC fittings. Those just pierce a CO2 for the gas whoosh, but they are smaller and easier to bury than the M80TRs. The Mad Bulls are nice for surface deploy when you do not want to dig for whatever reason.

Indeed these are called M80TRs. It is amazing even when laid fairly densely how many people pass an area covered BY them without stepping on them. Trip wires have a much higher set off rate than "step on" mines. I came across two different types in my stash. I have 6 PER trip mines which apparently were $28.95 as they were still in their boxes with prices clearly displayed. They look like a small smoke grenade and look very much like military issue trip flares. In addition I found two directional paintball/airport mine from the same company as the M80TRs. These are called M12 TR trip wife mines. It has been at least 15 years since I have seen these and I literally forgot that I had them!
To actually use these at events you have to have a group of players fully schooled on their use and dedicated to their depliyment. I remember using some of them at Nam game in California and only knew they worked by listening into the enemies radio conversations. Boobytraps can cause considerable confusion and chaos.
