My daughter has a fashion business and handmakes lovely scarves, tunics and pseudo kimonos. She has her own shop but sells mostly at street fairs and craft shows. As you can imagine it's a busy time for Tuesday's Scarves. (There, shameless plug is out of the way.) Yesterday my wife and I swung by to visit her at a show and I wandered around perusing the other vendors. Naturally anything khaki or OD catches my eye. A young lady with far too many piercings and tatoos for my taste had a booth proudly displaying her craftmanship. Hanging before me were quite a few assorted items of authentic WW2 field gear. There were several web belts including a couple 10 pocket Garand belts and 3 khaki BAR belts. As well as a couple musette bags and a M1910 haversack. In speaking with her she "liberated" these items from her late fathers estate. It turns out he was something of a militaria collector and had all this "junk" in an old duffle bag. Normally this would have been a great find BUT in an effort to make them "marketable" she had added brass brads, rhinestones and bizarre patches to each. Her prices on the now destroyed relics were about a third of their value if she'd left them alone. I walked away with a small tear in my eyes and some throw up in my mouth. How sad .
Stalin should have known communism wouldn't work. There were red flags everywhere!"
Some people just have no respect for history and are more worried about making a quick buck. Sucks for her though - she destroyed a significant amount of their value and in my opinion I'd be surprised if she'd find anyone to buy them period.

Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.

Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

stuka: well the forum is and should still be useful for updates on guns, creating groups/events and building kits

Cpl. Hicks: I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad to see this forum is still kicking! So much great info on here.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?

Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
