I’m down! Anyone have suggestions for how I can modify my 101st airborne kit so that it can be as kosher as possible for that battle/period? Also, what sort of weapons do people normally have at these CT games? Mp40’s and Thompson’s or do some people have more irregular period weapons!

I am assuming its a Normandy 101st airborne kit? Take the scrim off the helmet, the patch off the shoulder, and lighten your load to suspenders belt and a should bag or musette bag. We have a variety of WWII styled airsoft guns and we are pretty period correct overall. NO modern anything. There were no paratroopers on the Gothic Line, but by taking off unit patches and removing "Normandy exclusives" you can get by.
Essentially to modify the airborne kit to be as authentic as you can for this game:
Uniform:
-M1 Helmet (no net OR net WITHOUT scrim) -M42 Jump Jacket and Trousers (preferably a non reinforced set and no gas brassard) -Jump Boots
Equipment:
-M1936 Combat Suspenders -M1936 Musette Bag (optional) -Gear for weapon -M1 General Purpose Bag (optional)
A good reference for airborne impressions in late 1944 near Italy is Operation Dragoon, the invasion of Southern France with the 551st PIR.

Look forward to playing tomorrow. Might be a few minutes late but I’ll be ready to go when I arrive. Are there any special rules I need to review before coming?
