Battle of Kursk
I had a lot of fun at this event. It had multiple vehicles, including Dale’s Jeep from Nighthawk airsoft and paintball. There was plenty of infantry action as people played through the old buildings and barns as well as firework mortars being shot off overhead as well as taggin rounds being shot at the vehicles. Slowly and with the help of their CAS the Soviets got a foothold in the town and slowly took it over. Great time had by all.
Elias Mandela the owner is great about cool prizes at the end. The Soviet MVP got a period repro air raid siren with the crank handle and the German MVP got a period repro helmet with paint scheme and chicken wire attached. Very nice touch.
I took a few pictures and posted them on my Mountain Airsoft FB page. Most of the better pictures are on Elias FB page.
If given the chance to drive to one of Elias events in North Idaho I highly suggest it! He has guns and gear for people to use. He outfits you in his old family dairy barn! Cool ambience for WW2! He has numerous old trucks he utilizes in his games. And he stresses that they are airsofters and not reenactors. It’s about having fun and not counting stitches.
Im building a British Para/SAS impression that is not complete. I bought a civilian 1928 Tommy gun with drum mags that the British utilized in the war. It shot great right out of the box and was pleasantly surprised it was already wired for deans connectors. I also have a 87 Suburban I have cut the top off and installed a roll cage. It’s still a project. But I think I’m going to steer towards a khaki paint job and bristle it with machine guns to look similar to the LRDG trucks.
I just read that John had a event with 80 people participating in Goldendale. Awesome! That’s not very far away from us. If we could coordinate an event I think we could get 150 people to show up from around the Pacific NW! Something to consider.
