Thank you. The simulated wood finish and fake patina came out quite convincing I thought.

Indeed - the blond one is outstanding. The other one - I kind of liked how you modeled the stock. Overall - 3D printing parts is doable and a 3D printer is no longer so costly. I don't have any yet - but thinking about.

Yikes. In spite of continuous test fires throughout the building process for both builds. The rifle I used the 3D parts on is somehow frozen and locked in the closed position. I can no longer cock and fire it. Obviously the resin paste oozed down into the mechanism. My worst fear in these builds. It had to have been during the very latest steps. I can't imagine the stains or paint has caused it (but perhaps) I had cut the receiver group on the base M14 a little too low which reduced and nearly eliminated the slide channel for the bolt but it still worked. I think in an effort to rectify that I ruined it. With the second G43 I made the cuts higher and have no issues. One of the realities of these projects is to learn from ones mistakes. This most recent one is especially painful. I will try to cut everything out and try to fix it but failing that I will sell it as a static prop. Gack!!!! Drats!!! Arhhggghhhh!

No joy on trying to recover "blondie". Oh well. It will make a nice wall hanger and prop in pictures. Dad gummit! (no pun intended.). Let me know anyone if you have a 3D printer and can do up some more G43 bits. I will make more.

I never could remedy the mistake and get it to work. That's the bad news. The good news is I listed it as a display non gun on EBAY ootimitically starting it at $125.00 and it sold for $176.00. The take off RIS bundle sold for $20.00 hence the carton of 4 M14 springers were essentially paid for from this one sale. Odd but often times "movie prop" non guns sell for more than functional airsoft replicas. A happy ending to a build disaster. Still want to source a few more sets of these 3D printed G43 bits.
